Our world is changing, specially for children. The rate of child labour has increased at an alarming rate. But what is child labour ?
Good Morning ma'am and my dear friends. Today I am going to tell a speech on Child Labour.
Child labour refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. This practice is considered exploitative by many international organisations. Such as United nations.
Child labour is caused by several factors. Some of them include poverty, low aspiration, huge demand of unskilled labor, illiteracy, early marriages, high cost of education.
Child labour has several negative impacts. Some of them may include loss of quality childhood, health issues, mental trauma etc. The load of work can increase pressure in the child's mind.
But there are ways in which we can decrease child labour.
We can help charity institutions so that they can provide free education to abandoned or working children.
We should not entertain any form of child labour. Whenever we see a child working in a public area we should immediately call the police or a helpline of any organization.
Child labour is not just an affront to the rights of a child but also a symbol of a society that has lost its way. We should, therefore, all strive to ensure that the fundamental rights of children are protected and that they have the opportunity to go after their dreams and aspirations. The innocence of a child should never be taken away for the purpose of making the lives of adults easier. It is both unfair and morally unacceptable.
I hope you spread my message far and wide
THANK YOU
