Time, is ever present,

75 16 11

Time is my enemy, whenever I'm with you,

Taking from me, the one thing, I don't ever want to leave.

Time is my friend, when I am waiting, on your return,

Giving focus and heightened expectation, of what is to come.

Time is irrelevant, when I'm wrapped around your body, in love,

No thoughts of before or after, only of now and more.

Time is cruel, when it alarms us, from our dream filled afternoon honeymoon,

Reminding me it's only ever borrowed, and will be over too soon.

Time is up, when you go to leave, I see the flashing blue lights, through the neighbours trees,

We always knew, it couldn't be forever, I blow a kiss, as you leave,

The handcuffs glinting against your shirt sleeves.

Time is inevitable, for us all.
