I walked out of my house and went to Stan's house. I was going to help him on his Pre-Algebra, I'm in Algebra 1 so I know how to do it. He seemed to be struggling on Inequalities, I hated Pre-Algebra because it was a load of shit but the teacher was fun.

I got to his door and I knocked on it. I was greeted by his mother, who had her welcoming smile.

"Hi Mavis, are you here for Stan? Well he is in his room," she said all in one. I just smiled and nodded, entering the Uris home and walked upstairs to Stan's room. I knocked on Stan's door that was closed, and was greeted by a beaming Stan.

"What are you so chipper about?", I asked curious.

"Nothing in particular, now tutor me Miss Queen," Stan said eagerly.

"I will never know what goes on inside your head, Stan", I said with a giggle. I walked in his room and sat on his bed. He had his textbook, notebook, and pencil ready for the tutor session. I've been tutoring him for quite a while, so he knows to be prepared.

"So what do you not understand?", I asked him.

"Everything!", he said, bluntly.

I sighed and made a few equations for him to practice. Turns out he was telling the truth, because he was on a different level. I found out he didn't do the first step right and helped him on it.

I did an equation like 2y+5>21, it was pretty easy because you just had to subtract 5 on both sides and divide by 2. I explained how I solved it and watch him try an equation.

He looked so cute with his concentrated face. He seemed to be having a hard time trying to understand what I said and tried to do the same method I used. I can basically hear the gears in his head. He said once that he loved me tutoring him because I can explain it better than the teachers. I really want to be a teacher or a psychiatrist.

He seemed to understand but forgot to divide. He practiced on a few more equations and got them all correct.

"Do you get it now, or do you need more help?", I asked Stan.

"I understand it, but can you help me on a personal problem?", he asked me, willingly.

"Sure, what is it about?", I answered.

"There is this girl and I like her. She is one of my friends and she is really unique. She is super smart and I worry that my intelligence might not make her like me. So what should I do?", he asked me, desperately.

"Well for one, you shouldn't worry about your intelligence. And two, if she doesn't like you for you, don't waste your time on her. Finally, just be yourself, you are an amazing person with a great personality and some beautiful hair. Just look at these curls, they look so soft," I complimented him.

"Thanks, honestly you are the best. Thanks, Mavis!", he hugged me at the end of his words.

I honestly felt jealous of this girl, she has all the attention of Stan. The way he talks about her is just nerve-racking. I wish he felt this way about me. I should ask him who she is.

"Who is she? Is she in our grade?", I asked trying to get answers.

"Yes she is in our grade and she starts with an M. Why do you ask?", Stan said seeming suspicious.

"No reason, just wanting to know the girl who stole my best friends heart away", I answered.

I feel like it's a girl named Marissa and she is way prettier than me. I wished I was pretty like her so Stan can notice me. I know I'm pretty, but not good enough for Stan. One day I hope he likes me more than a friend.
