Hard Day at Work (Taishiro Toyomitsu x Reader)

You sighed as you laid in bed, slowly waking up to the sound of your boyfriend doing something in the kitchen. You could hear some sizzling and popping in the kitchen and then a wonderful aroma reached your nose. You sat up in bed and stretched as you tried to identify what was being made.

"Mmmm...coffee...eggs, oh, bacon and...pancakes!" You listed off what you could smell coming from the kitchen, becoming more excited with each food you identified. You hopped out of bed and hurried to the kitchen to greet your boyfriend. Upon reaching the kitchen you saw your tall boyfriend pouring some coffee into your favorite mug before reaching for the milk and putting in a bit of milk. He turned around and gave you a big grin that you couldn't help but return.

"Good-mornin', darlin'. Did you sleep well?" Taishiro asked as he gave you the cup of coffee and kissing you on the forehead. Ever since you started dating the BMI hero you have been enjoying your height. You were taller than most people and when you stand next to your boyfriend you were only six inches shorter.

"I slept great. What inspired the feast for breakfast this morning? Did something good happen at work last night?" You asked knowing that he did not get home until almost eleven thirty last night. If he was tired he was not showing any signs to you that he was and usually you both have a bowl of cereal together or just make some toast if you are running late due to oversleeping.

"No, everything is still the same as usual. I did get a new intern but that's not why I am making breakfast this morning." He paused for a moment before giving you a worried look, "You seem like ya might be havin a hard time at work so I just wanted to do something nice for you to help start the day off right." He loving caressed your check with one of his large warm hands which you leaned into and smiled softly.

"Oh, sweetie, yeah it's been busy but I can handle it. I do appreciate you making breakfast but you better be careful." You started and grinned widely as Taishiro gave you a confused look. "If you start doing this I might get too spoiled." Your boyfriend ruffled your already messy hair after you finished what you had to say and laughing with you.

"I couldn't spoil ya enough, honey. Now take a seat, breakfast is almost ready." He said as he went back to making the final preparations for this mornings meal.

You gave Taishiro a kiss on the cheek before you went your separate ways. This is when things slowly started going downhill.

As you were on your way to work you had run into a large group of people waiting around. Apparently, there was a villain ahead so some heroes, who were helping out, were not letting anyone through the area until they were able to apprehend the villain. You decided to find a different route seeing as you did not know how long it would take for the heroes to complete their job. However, your detour took you a bit out of the way of your usual path so you almost did not make it to work on time.

After you punched in for the day it progressively got worse. You had a big list of tasks that you had to complete before the meeting at noon and of course, you could not complete your work without some of your colleagues striking up a few conversations with you. It just wasn't in you to turn them away and explain to them that you were extremely busy. You would calmly listen to them and offer them a smile here and there. Once they walked away you would hurriedly work on what you needed to while feeling the pressure start to build up in your chest. You would occasionally sigh in frustration after glancing at the time.

Time was flying by and the amount work you needed to, well you felt like you needed to, complete kept piling on. You were getting emails from the supervisor of another branch pointing out an error you made on a report you had sent them and then another coworker came up because they had a major "problem" that needed to be fixed right at that moment. Your frustration, at the amount of work and some of the mistakes you made throughout the day, had built up to the point to where you felt you could either bite someone's head off or go into a full out sobbing fit.

When you clocked out for the day you felt like your steps were heavy and you were lost in thought. You had this bad habit of thinking back to work and what you could have done differently and what you need to start working on tomorrow. This did not help improve your mood in any way, shape or form.

Once you opened up the door to the apartment you shared with your loving boyfriend you noticed there were no lights on. A heavy sighed left your lips as your kicked off your shoes and made your way to the living room, flicking on the light. You sat on the couch and turned on the tv, absentmindedly watching whatever was currently on. You didn't realize how late it was until you heard the click of the front door being unlocked. You glanced at the clock and saw it was almost midnight.

Oh, Taishiro was not going to be happy. He knows you have to wake up around five in the morning to get prepared for work. This thought only added to the frustration that was now just directed towards yourself. You heard Taishiro making his way to the living room as you stood up.

"Darlin', what are you doing up this late?" He asked as you made your way over to him and hugged him tightly. "What's wrong? Did you have a bad day at work?" His concerned voice reached your ears as he slowly embraces you.

"It was just a frustrating day. It's a bit silly that I let it get to me this much. I just really need a hug right now." You choked out as tears start to spill out. Taishiro felt you starting to shake, knowing very well that you were starting to cry. He hugged you tightly and stroked your hair. You were used to his hugs and enjoyed them but this one just silently communicated with you just how much he loves and cares for you. This alone helps you feel better as you relax in his embrace.

Taishiro took the opportunity to scoop you into his arms and walk over to the bedroom where he set you down on the bed. He pulled the covers over you before going to his side of the bed and crawling in next to you. He pulled you close to him and continued to soothingly stroke your hair whispering sweet and loving words to you. You snuggled closer to him softly muttering words of appreciation to him as you started to doze off. Neither one of you cared that you haven't changed since getting off of work. You just enjoyed being near each other before falling into a peaceful slumber.
