•Remember I love you all :)

I reached onto the bag that I couldn't be bothered to unpack and pulled out my usual jeans and hoodie ready for school today. I had been away for the past two weeks with my dad on one of his 'trips' and today, thankfully, was a Friday.

After getting changed, I brushed my long, blonde hair until the slight waves looked more tamed. I then walked over to my mirror and started to apply my makeup. It's times like these that I'm glad I can wear makeup. I thought to myself as I covered up any visible bruises and scratches.

I then quietly crept past my dad's room. He would most likely be passed out across his bed surrounded by beer bottles. I let out a sigh at the fought as I ran into the kitchen. I took out some aspirin and poured a glass of water to take up to his room. I sneak into the room and was instantly hit with the pungent smell of alcohol.

I held my breath as I walked over and put the water and tablets beside my dad's bed, careful not to wake him up. I looked at him as he spread his arms and legs in a star position across the bed. His eyes were once, like mine, bright blue and full of life, but now they were dull like the alcohol had sucked out all the life from them.

He used to be so happy, we all were. Until my dad got in some money problems and owed a lot of people. The pressure of it all must have gotten to him as he started to heavily drink and my dad was a nasty drunk. He drove my mum to a point where she ran away one night without either of us knowing. It broke my heart that she left me when he was still in a bad state without even a goodbye. In fact after she left, my dad got worse, he drank more, became more abusive and starting using to help pay some of his debts.

I mentally shook my head to clear my thoughts and I left his room. On my way out of the house, I picked up one of the no longer fresh apples from the side and shoved it into my bag. I quietly shut the door behind me and started my walk to school.

When I got to school, I walked over to my locker and everyone parted the way, making sure not to make any eye contact with me. Although I was secretly hoping someone would get in my way so I would have the excuse to punch someone in the face. But, of course, they kept a five metre radius around me.

"Well hello there Chloe dearest." I looked around to see my friend, Alex smirking down at me with his big brown eyes.

"Hey, Alex."

"So how was your trip?" I internally cringed at the thought of the trip but I forced on a smile.

"Good thanks, how was school without me?"

"Boring as always. Although have you heard about the new guy?"

"Nope," I replied, slamming my locker shut and turning into the direction of my next class. "So, spill. What’s he like?"

"Well let's just say you have some competition."

"What do you me-"

I was suddenly cut off as a figure crashed into mine, almost throwing me off my balance.

"What the hell idiot, watch where you're going!" I shouted as I brushed off any invisible dust from my jeans.

"Well aren't you feisty." A low voice answered. I looked up, shocked that anyone would answer me back. My eyes met a pair of grey eyes that sent a shiver down my spine. He looked down at me as a piece of his brown hair fell slightly across his eyes. He gave me an over confident smirk and a wink. He was tall and muscular and rather gorgeous looking.
