The next day I agreed to meet Alex in the town centre so we could get lunch together and catch up on any news I may have missed whilst I was away. Alex has always been a great friend to me, even when everyone else was too scared to look in my direction, he accepted that side of me. He was the one person I could talk about everything to. Although, he doesn't know what my father does to me. Nobody knows about that and I plan on keeping it that way. However, he does know about my dad's frequent alcoholic side.
I snapped out of my thoughts and went to getting changed for the day. I wore my usual skinny jeans and one size too big hoodie. I then put on my make-up, just enough to cover up the bruises, cuts and scars on my face.
Once I was done, I grabbed some money that I had saved from my last job that I was forced to leave. I then grabbed my phone from its charger and made my way out of my bedroom. I started the usual morning task of sneaking into my dad's room to give him his aspirin and water. After that I ran downstairs and waited for Alex to come and pick me up.
The sound of a door slamming shut made me spin around on the small wall I was sitting on. My eyes landed on a very hot and a very shirtless Theo as he stormed along his driveway. His chest was broad, perfectly tanned and muscular, but not too muscular. Just enough that meant he had a six pack without looking like those scary weightlifters that have a closer resemblance to a truck than a human being.
As I drifted my eyes back to his face, I noticed a pair of grey eyes staring straight back at me. His once angry face turned into a smug smirk, making mine then the brightest possible shade of red.
"Well look who's doing the spying now." He called over with a wink as he put on the shirt he had been holding. A slight wave of disappointment came over me.
Wait, what am I thinking? I'm Chloe Bell. I don't stare at topless guys that just so happen to live next door and just so happens to be a badass.
Then what are you doing now.
I mentally slapped the voice in my head and looked back at Theo who was still giving me his signature smirk.
"I'm not spying, I'm waiting for my friend. It's not my fault that you came outside at the same time and were shirtless in front of me!"
"Woah woah! Calm down princess, I never said I didn't like it."
Ew.
You know you secretly love it.
Shut up.
Make me.
Oh god, I'm having an argument with myself. Yeah, I'm definitely going insane.
I rolled my eyes at him and looked to the road as Alex drove towards us. Perfect timing. I quickly jumped off the wall and skipped over to where Alex had pulled over.
"Well I'll see you soon then." I turned around to see Theo had walked over to his own car.
"Yeah well it's pretty hard not to seeing as you're my next door neighbour." I called back as I opened the car door.
"Whatever, smartass."
I shook my head at his comment before lowering myself into Alex's car.
"Looks like your making new friends." Alex grinned.
"Shut up, Alex." I grumbled, putting on my seatbelt.
He held is hands up, surrendering. "I'm not saying there's anything bad about it. As long as he doesn't replace me."
