(A/N) Hello to everyone who's reading this! My name's Cayla, and this is where my story begins (I'm going to be doing some back stories to the characters so hold on, and the story isn't going to follow the exact story line of The X-Men or The Avengers)

Chapter 1

The Beginning

{ December 10, 1999}

Cold is all I felt, I ran as fast as I could, away from the school, my home. I looked back seeing it burn down into flames, hearing the blood curdling screams of my brothers and sisters, who have been fighting this battle too long and it was my job to end it. I thought back to the time where mutants and humans could live in harmony, but the humans feared us, wanted to destroy what they couldn't explain. All I could see now was flashing lights from the soldiers who were sent to destroy what was left of us. I snuck up behind one of them and touched their temples and they fell to the ground, dead.
"Phil, I think I see one!," said a man not in the normal army uniform, but a black suit with a weird symbol on the pocket of the blazer. Maybe they're here to help me! I think to myself as they slowly run towards me. I don't move, I wait. As they approach me one of them said, "Who are you?"
"I am Catherine, daughter of professor Xavier, " I said keeping my head high, showing honour to my name. "I am a mutant," I say looking into their eyes.
"Shit!," one of them said seeing the soldiers running towards us. The other one picked me up as they both sprinted back to their van. It was too late, soldiers crowded around the van, weapons in hands.
"We'll shoot!," screamed one of them. I looked at them all and said, "Do it.," The soldiers started shooting until all the bullets curved and shot them all perfectly in their chests. The two men looked at me in disbelief, not knowing what my powers can do, even myself unaware.
As the two men put me in the back seat of the van they said, "Hello Miss Catherine, my name is Phil Coulson and this is John Cook, and we're agents of SHIELD." I smiled remembering the time my father was in the X-Men and some of those agents came to our school, "Catherine you are a special mutant aren't you?" Phil Coulson said to me looking at me through his review mirror.
"If you can say," I said looking through the window. Watching the ounce loving school burn down to ashes of hatred and range. Something I can't behold, but my father did. He said that I can behold that power but never could release it because I was to delicate and young, as my 8 year old stature couldn't hold it. As I look back into my memories I could only hear the faint whisper of my father saying soon, my dear soon. I flinch at the sound of his crackling voice.
We arrived at a big building in New York, I watched in awe as Phil helped me out of the van. I smiled showing him the array of missing teeth from my head and said, "What is this place?" I looked up to the tall building. "SHIELD," He said the single word pointing at the sign on the building. He walked me into the place and said, "Okay Miss Catherine, we need to ask you a few questions, and then we'll give you a bed to sleep in okay?," he placed a hand on my shoulder.
    "Okay," I replied.
Phil sat me in a small room where there was windows on every side. They're watching us. A voice in my mind said. I played it off as a large man in a black trench coat, and an eye patch over his left eye with scares coming out of it, entered the room. "Hello Miss Xavier, my name is Nick Fury, and I am the director of SHIELD," He held out his hand for me to shake.
I grasped his giant hand and said, "Hello Mr. Fury how can I help you?,"
"By telling me what you are," he said looking me in the eyes.
"Well I'm a eight year old girl, who just watched my family and everything I know burn to ashes, but of this stupid war that been going on before I was born and did I mention I'm a part of a mutant race that my farther leads?"  I said smiling at him, "The more you know," I said sarcastically.
"Well Miss Xavier,  what powers do you have?" He said trying to keep calm.
"I can use more than 81% percent of my mind so I can control objects and minds, levitate,  and I can make force felids." I said looking at his eye patch.
He smiled and said, "Well Miss Xavier, I want you to think about this, we've been watching your people for a long time particularly you, and we want to work with you, learn your powers and how to use them and for you to become a hero." I smiled back at the thought of myself as a hero.
"Yes, I will join your team!," I said excitedly, letting my little girl side out. Nick Fury walked out and I was alone again.  Stupid girl.  The voice said again, I scrunched my eyes close and sighed at the thought of all that happened.  I was starting a new life.
