Kenny stared at the boy outside. He was wearing a giant coat and matching gloves due to the cold. Kenny had no idea what he was doing out there, but he seemed adorable. He knew he had to confront this mysterious boy, so he headed outside.

When he opened the door he was greeted with the freezing temperature, which made him wish he had at least put a jacket on before he decided to go outside on a whim. He looked at the boy, who hadn't noticed him because he was facing away; looking for something. Kenny decided to make his presence known, "Umm, you're in my yard."

The blonde jumped in surprise before turning around, "Oh, yeah, I am." Then, he went back to searching whatever he was looking for.Kenny awkwardly stood there looking at the unknown boy he wanted to learn more about.

That's when he noticed there was also a tent in his yard. "Is that a tent?"

The boy turned back to him, "Oh, yes, is that okay?" When Kenny didn't immediately respond, he continued talking, "I was told people in Colorado don't mind, at least that's what this brochure claims. It says people in Colorado have a different way of living." He paused for a moment and whatever he saw on Kenny's face worried him, because he backtracked. "Oh no, it does bother you, doesn't it? I'm sorry, I didn't think it would."

In the time that Kenny heard this boy speak so few words, he knew he was done for. He needed him in his life, he needed him there for the rest of his life. While he was thinking about his new found revelation, he noticed he was holding a paper bag of some sort. He didn't know what was inside it, but he figured it wasn't important enough to bring up. Kenny glanced back at him and realized the boy hadn't stopped talking.

He could tell he was very nervous so Kenny just said, "It's fine, you can camp out." Honestly, he couldn't picture himself ever saying no to him. Then, a grin like no other lightened up the blonde's face and he jumped at Kenny, hugging him. In the process, Kenny somehow ended up with the paper bag that the boy was holding.

He didn't think much of it until the blonde froze up and started panicking. He looked around for a minute before zoning in on Kenny. "I need that! Please, give it back!" Kenny quickly gave it back, surprised at his extreme need to hold onto it.

There was a moment of silence before Kenny decided to make small talk, "So, what made you come to Colorado?"

Kenny could see the happiness mixed with a sad longing in the boy's eyes as he said, "I wanted to see the northern lights, they say you'll be able to see them from here tonight."Kenny knew that this clearly meant something personal to him, so he decided not to pry.

He just nodded in agreement, "The lights are indeed beautiful."

Then, as if the guy didn't feel any sadness, he looked back at Kenny and said, "Yeah, I can't wait, the sky here looks perfect for it."

Kenny smiled looking out at the sky, "Yeah, it used to be a potato farm."

"Are you a potato farmer?"

Kenny laughed, "God no!" When the boy frowned, he figured he should elaborate. "I said used to be."

"Well then, what are you?"

Kenny puffed out his chest and proudly said, "I'm a repairman."

The excited boy smiled, "That job is a lot more impressive then the ones I thought people had in Colorado."

"What kind of jobs did you think people in Colorado had?"

The blonde shrugged, "I don't know, just not interesting ones." Kenny couldn't contain the giggle that escaped his lips as the boy continued talking, "Well anyway, thank you for letting me stay out in your yard. I've had such a bad time lately and-"Kenny didn't know what he was going to say, but he didn't care. In a quick decision, that he probably should have thought through more, he leaned forward and kissed the boy whose name he didn't even know. Kenny didn't know what came over himself, it just felt like the right thing to do at the moment.
