It had been three years and six days since Willow had moved out of her parents home since she had gotten a job at Joja's.
For the first year, it was okay but eventually, as the week progressed on the days became the same old same old.
Get up, eat breakfast, shower, brush teeth, get dressed into the Joja's uniform and go to work. It continued like that since she first started there and now it's been three years and nothing has changed.
Right now Willow is sitting in her small cubicle staring at the computer, she had developed a major migraine due to constantly working on the computer hardly taking a break.
So despite the fact she was supposed to be working on her task, she decided to lean back in her seat and close her eyes.
While she relaxed in the chair she thought back to several years ago at her grandfather's house. She had been in school that day working on her schoolwork when all of a sudden she was called to the front office saying she was being checked out.
Wondering why she was being checked out she left the classroom without so much as a peep out of her and made her way to the front office where she found her older brother standing there waiting for her.
Confused she followed him out the school and to the car, while they were walking on the car her brother explained to her that their grandfather was dying and didn't have much time to live.
She opened the door to the backseat and climbed into the car, closing the door behind her. Her brother had already gotten into the car and just as Willow closed the door he began driving to where her grandfather lived.
When they arrived she noticed that her mother, father, and older sister was already there. So she and her brother made their way into the house where she made her way over to her grandfather's side.
Having him leaving her so soon made her a bit sad since he was really the only one in the family who truly understood her.
Once her grandfather noticed everyone in the room he began his goodbyes to his family as well as leaving them with something precious of his when he finally got to his granddaughter he handed her an envelope and told her not to open it until the day she felt burdened with the city life and wanted to start anew.
After that, he closed his eyes to sleep for the final time, Willow came back to reality and opened up her desk drawer and saw the envelope sitting there in the drawer staring at her and taunting her. She picked it up and began to read it.
Dear Willow,
If you're reading this, you must be in dire need of a change.
The same thing happened to me, long ago. I'd lost sight of what mattered most in life... real connections
with other people and nature. So I dropped everything and moved to the place I
truly belong.
I've enclosed the deed to that place... my pride and joy: NightShade Farm. It's located in Stardew
Valley. On the southern coast. It's the perfect place to start your new life.
This was my precious gift of all, and now it's yours. I know you will honor the family name, my
dear.
Love, Grandpa
P.S. If Lewis is still alive say hi to the old guy for me, will ya?
Once she finished reading the letter she placed it back into the envelope, gathered up her stuff off of her desk and packed them into the box she kept beneath her desk.
then she went to her boss's office and told him that she quit. He handed her, her last check and she left Joja's corporation for good, She was heading to Stardew Valley to start her life over and become something she wanted to be.
