Denika's point of view.

I'm drowning, not in water but something that I can't describe. Just by the touch of it it stings my skin. I'm screaming in pain that's unbearable. The worst thing yet is that I can't move, I'm frozen.

SCREETCH!!!!

I'm sitting bolt upright in my bed, wondering what the heck made that sound. I look around finding my own room exactly the same way I left it. My desk is covered in papers that I didn't put in my backpack yet, my closet is partly open, my dresser is covered in many things that doesn't include makeup because I don't use makeup and my bed.. wait I'm sitting on it. The only difference is that my bedroom is a lot colder than it was before.

SCREETCH!!!!

I look right away at the window, someone is trying to pry open my window and get into my bedroom. Without thinking I get up and quickly fold up my blankets just like I do every day and get under my bed. I look out from under my bed and the person continues to try to pry open my window.

After a minute or two the curtains open and in steps a person. The moon shines brightly through my window. The intruder walks around a bit. I try to make out the shoes of the person but they stay on the side of my bedroom that the moon doesn't shine. They then go over to my desk and then my dresser and then to my closet then to my bed. The person says something but their whispering so I can't make out what they are saying.

I need a way to get this person out of my room or I need to get out. So I take a minute to think this through, then I get a great idea. Hopefully this works.

When the person comes close to my bed I slowly put my hand out and get a grip on the person's ankle and pull as hard as I can. They fall with a loud thud onto their back, and I scramble out from under my bed and kneel beside them, with my left hand aiming at their nose and my right in the air in a fist ready to punch.

The moon shines bright on the intruders smiling face and I relax. It's George, one of my best friends. In my opinion he is very cute, he is a little shorter than me (I am around 5 foot tall), and he has the darkest blue eyes I have ever seen, he has blond hair, and his face is covered in freckles.

I help him get up and I walk over to my lamp and turn it on."So what brings you here at this time. You do know it's 3:30 at night" I say. He looks at me and smiles widely, I smile back to him. "Well the thing is, I would have come from the front door but your parents wouldn't be happy with that so I thought of coming through the window thinking that it wouldn't make a sound, and I would just leave this letter on your bed and leave." He shows me a letter in his hand.

"Who is it from, and why the heck did you have to come in the middle of the night to give this letter to me".

"It's from Nolan."

"Your kidding!" I say. Nolan, it just had to be from Nolan. He is one of the boys that look so good that a lot of girls like him. But I don't like him at all. He is stupid and very mean. " No I'm not kidding. It's from Nolan." George says.

"Ok but why did you have to give it to me, couldn't he have given it to me." He looks at me and frowns "Here read it, then you will understand why." He hands me the letter. I open it and I begin to read it. I only get to the greetings when.

CLICK.

The lights go off. I walk over to my lamp and try to turn it on but it doesn't. I walk over to the light switch by my door and try to turn the light on but it doesn't turn on. "I guess the power went out."

George's point of view.

I'm sitting on my bed reading that letter from Nolan to Denika over and over again wondering how to give it to Denika today because it's like 3:10 am right now. I don't want to give it to her because if he can't ask her out to the dance by him self then he has no right to go out with her, I just hope she refuses. I would have given it to her tomorrow but Nolan said today or else I will have to suffer some consequences which I don't know what, but something could happen to Denika. I never thought he would stood so low.

I think it through for 10 minutes. If I texted her right now Denika wouldn't see it because she always keeps her phone silent.

After a while I come up with something, hopefully it works and doesn't wake her up.

I quietly go into my dad's workshop which is located in the garage and get one of dad's crow bars. I then start to leave.

By the time I get out of the house it's already 3:15. It takes me only 5 minutes to walk there.

When I get there I go to the back of the house where Denika's window is but their is a gate in the way and its locked, but I remember how denika showed me to open the gate so I get the slim stick which lies on the ground in the pit of rocks and stick it through the small opening right by the lock and push my side of the stick down. The gate opens and I go into their backyard. I'm not tall enough to reach Denika's window balcony so I go over into their porch and bring a chair over. I place it right under Denika's bedroom window and stand up on it. I'm still not tall enough. I can almost reach the flower balcony of the window, so I need something else to go on the chair, so I can get in. I look around and find nothing. So I put the crow bar in my pocket hoping it doesn't fall out and jump. I try my best to get a good grip on the cement and then I pull myself up.

After a little bit of crowing and pulling, I get in Denika's room. I notice that she is not in her room and that her bed sheets are folded up like always except a bit messy.

I walk around a bit looking at her room, I have never seen her room in so much detail. Her parents are a bit strict so I have only been to her house once, when we had to do a project together which we had to stay in the dining I did get to see her room so that's how I know about her bed.

I then walk over to her desk which is covered in papers from school, her backpack lies right under her desk. Her dresser is the place where I go next, it's covered in books, pencils, pens and things that Denika treasures. I go to her closet next, it's a bit open but I decide not to open it.

I walk over to her bed thinking that I could just leave the letter here and leave. But before I do I just need to make sure that she isn't there so I whisper "Hey Denika are you here, it's me George." No one answers. I am just about to put the letter on her bed when a hand wraps around my ankle and pulls. I land on the floor with a thud.

I realize that I'm terrified when I can't think straight and when my breathing stops. A person come out from under the bed and one of their hands hover right over my nose and the other in a fist in the air. I know this must be Denika so I smile and then Denika puts her arms down. She helps me up and walks over to her lamp and turns it on. "So what brings you here at this time. You do know it's 3:30 at night." I smile widely at her and she smiles back. "Well the thing is, I would have come through the front door but your parents wouldn't be happy with that so I thought about coming through the window, thinking that it wouldn't make a sound, and I would just leave this letter in your bed and leave." I show her a letter in my hand.

"Who is it from and why the heck did you have to come in the middle of the night to give this letter to me."

"It's from Nolan." I say and luckily I didn't have to explain why I had to come in the middle of the night because his name tells it all.

"Your kidding!" She says with a horrified face. "No I'm not kidding. It's from Nolan"

"Ok but why did you have to give it to me, couldn't he have given it to me."
At this point I don't know if I feel happy or angry. I frown and give her the letter "Here read it, then you will understand why."

The lights go out and Danika didn't finish reading the letter. In fact I think that she didn't even start reading it. Denika try's to turn on her lamp and the light switch by the door but it doesn't work.

"I guess the power went out." Great I think the light went out and now Danika can't read the letter and tell me if she is gonna go to the dance with Nolan or not. There is no way I'm gonna tell her what is written in that letter either.
