I dreamed that I got new next door neighbors. A family called The Aldens. They had a daughter my age and a pair of twins named Jason and Wendy. I, being the anti-social person I am, didn't bother to meet the people until later.
I was at school, taking books out of my locker. Then I closed the locker, turned and accidentally crashed into a girl. She fell with a thud and quickly apologized for bumping into me. I apologized too, because It may have been my fault, and helped her up. She introduced herself as Rosalie. I asked If she was new, after introducing myself, and she nodded. She needed help finding Mr. Kim's class. I asked to look at her schedule, and noticed she had 7 of 8 classes with me. The only class she didn't have was my photography class, which was replaced by P.E. I told her to follow me, and she did. We quickly became friends, as she was just as weird as I was. I introduced her to my friends and she joined our group.
When I went home, I took my dog for a walk, and I heard someone call my name. Turns out, Rosalie was my new neighbor. We soon became best friends and were together non-stop.
About 10 months later, it was summer and, we were having a sleepover, which was very often, and were watching a movie. She told me she liked me. I told her I liked her too. She smiled and I continued. I, being an idiot, told her she was the sister I never had.
Rosalie got up and told me she had to go to the bathroom. I waved her off, and paused the movie. I got on my phone and waited for her to come out so we could continue watching the movie.
16 minutes later, I got up and went to knock on the door of the bathroom. I asked if she was okay, and she said yeah, it was just shark week. A minute later, she opened the door. It looked like she had been crying. I thought nothing of it. (Again, I'm an Idiot)
After that day, I never saw her or got a text back or even heard from her until school started. Every time I went to her house, her parents would answer, and said she wasn't home.
School started again, and we were now seniors. I noticed that Rosalie was hanging out with another group instead of ours. I thought, maybe she wants to hang with them, but she will still sit with us at lunchtime. I was wrong, she acted like I didn't even exist.
After an entire semester (of 5 months), on the last day, I decided to confront her about it. So, after school when only 2 of her group of friends were there with her, I came up behind her and waved her friends off. They seemed to get the message, and as they walked away, I grabbed her hand. She looked confused, as she tilted her head a little, and when she saw me, she looked a little panicked.
I told her off real good. She looked nervous and I ended it with a "what could possibly be so bad that you hate me for it?!" She paused for a second, with tears in her eyes, and grabbed both my cheeks. Then, I closed my eyes as I felt her soft warm lips touch mine. The kiss only lasted for a few seconds, but it felt so good. Then, she ran out of the hall.
I ran after her, and she got in her car as I got into mine. I drove home, thinking of how everything was getting confusing and only some parts made sense. I thought back to that day, and groaned at how badly I must have broken her heart with a few words. Gosh, I'm an idiot.
I finally made it home, and after putting my car and backpack away, I went to knock on her door. This time, her mom sighed at me and just let me in. I went up to Rosalie's room and knocked on the door. She didn't respond, so I spoke. I told her that we seriously needed to talk. I begged her to open the door and my voice began to crack. My eyes began to water and I felt tears on my cheeks. I was in shock that I was crying. I hadn't realized how much she truly meant to me before. I quietly said, "....please open the door...." Then, I woke up.
I kid you not, I woke up with tears in my eyes ftom this dream. Also, this is the dream that inspired my new story called My Girl.
