Dale Howard's

When the phone rang, I didn't answer it easily, I just picked it up when it's almost over.

"Hello? Who's this?", I asked as I lay on my bed.

"Hey, it's Elijah. Are you okay?"

I smiled a bit when I heard his voice. I never thought that he'd call me.

"I'm cool, where did you get my number?", I asked casually as I close my eyes waiting for his response.

" I got it from Ms. Zendria. Hey, about awhile ago. I know it  kinda gave you fear, confusion and goosebumps about what really happened.", he said.

I heard a deep sigh before he continued speaking from the other line.

"When we entered 12-Honesty, we knew that there's no turning back anymore. I hope you knew that but I figured that you're just a new guy at school and you don't know anything about this..", he paused. I was actually intrigued about this now.

Why do students fade after lying and how do they disappear? Where do they put them?

" If you're actually listening right now, I just want you to know that you entered hell actually. People who enter that hell classroom can't go out anymore. Although they teach us life lessons, they still kill teens like us. Yes, they kill the people who disobeys the rule of the school and it's also a yes that the authorities, policemen or even the president can't do anything about this matter."  Eli continued with a hint of irritation and fear on his voice.

Silence was my only response after hearing what he said. After that, I ended the call without a single word coming out from my mouth.

I went to the bathroom and opened the faucet. I watched the water flow on my bathtub as I thought about the scenarios and events that happened to me this past few weeks.

After being a part of that class, it made me realize that there's no turning back anymore.

The thing is, it makes me melt although I'm a guy. Basically because I can't do anything about this and until now I'm still processing these things.

Day after day, I'm witnessing each student who LIES disappear. I always notice how our class lose one student each day. It's a good thing already if no one tried to lie each day and also no one disappears once a week.

The thing about this is, every day, it's getting worse. Just like awhile ago. So far so bad that's one of the most gruesome death we have encountered. To be honest, that gave me goosebumps but I chose not to react so much.

"Son, let's talk. I need to tell you something.", I was interrupted when I heard my father's voice. I heaved a sigh and stood up.

" Yes dad, I'm going.", I replied as I open the door and followed him downstairs. What's this now?

I walked down the stairs and saw two familiar figures. I saw my mom sitting beside our school principal. She's wearing a tight little dress that made her look like a teenager but I can still see how she age more because of her wrinkles. I turn to look at the man beside her which I remember as the Principal of my current school. He's wearing a black suit and his face is plastered with a genuine smile.

What is he doing here?
Why the hell is he with my Mom?

I sat beside my dad  and heard him release a deep sigh as he start to talk.
"Dale, meet your step dad.", he said and it left me staring at Mr. Hutchinson with an awed expression.

I can't process what dad said. I'm still in shock and focused staring at the guy who ruined our family. Yes, I consider him as the wrecker already. I see now. I know now. He wanted me to enter his school to have more time with my mom. Maybe he really wants to get into my mom's pants.

I see.

I understand now why my mom goes home late or why she doesn't go home.

" Yes, Dale. He's your stepdad and we will get married soon. We want to invite you and your dad to come. You can also stay at our house so that you can enjoy and have your bonding time with Blake. I asked your father to sign the divorce contract already so there will be no problem about it.", my mom said with loving eyes and stare at her so called love. How stupid and selfish is that right?

I faced my mom with eyes on fire.

"No problem? You still dare to come home after commiting a mistake. How can you still come here and dare to introduce this snake that ruined our family?! And now?! You want us to go to your fucking wedding?! How sluttish are you?!", I roared up like a wild lion. I stood up and punched Hutchinson in the face. For now I don't care if he will expel me for beating his ass up. I just want him to know how mad I am.

I heard my mom plead and stop me but I didn't care. Even dad tried to stop me but it was no use.

"FUCK YOU! YOU KILL EVERY STUDENT WHO LIE AND NOW YOU RUINED MY FAMILY?! DAMN YOU DIE!!", I shouted at him as I continue to punch him. When I saw him all bloody already, I stood up and faced them both. I looked at them with a murderous look.

" Get the hell out of my house. I don't need a slut and a piece of trash here. Or else, I would ask a lawyer to file a case against the both of you. Dad, leave them, they're just here for your blessing. Give it to them.", I said with a stoic voice and expression as I turn around and walk up stairs.

I paused in the middle of the stairs and faced my Mother who's weeping downstairs. I looked at her said..

"When you're done with the divorce contract, go away. Don't come here. You're not welcome here anymore. And," I paused and turned around. "We don't need a woman who chose to be with her other man than his family. You disgust me.". I continued and walked towards my room.

After I close the door, I slowly walked towards my bed and started crying. I know I might be too cold and hard but still, it broke my heart. It's not all the time that we boys cry. It's not always that we can hide our pain.

I walked towards the bathroom and looked for the blade. When I saw it, I knew I needed to do it to ease the pain. I just need one deep cut. I slowly traced my wrist using the blade and felt the sharp pain it gave me and the satisfaction of seeing the blood flowing from my wrist.

I washed it off and wrapped it in a bandage. That night I felt vulnerable.

I cried that night and that drifted me off to sleep..
