Chapter 6

Riley's P.O.V

Alexa and I sat at the table in fatigue after spending two hours digging to find the money. It was in a brown suitcase and none of us had the courage to open it up. We sat in silence until the doorbell rung.

Alexa turned to me "You expecting anyone?" I shook my head.

"No, especially not at this hour. It's twenty past ten." I stood up from my chair whilst Alexa fumbled around trying to find a suitable place for the suitcase to be hidden.

"Stay here incase it's one of Yas's friends."

Alexa nodded and I made my way to the front door. Unbolting the lock, I opened it, my stomach dropped when I saw who was stood on my door step.

"Good evening Riley, are you going to invite me in?" Leanne asked as she raised an eyebrow brushing past me. She eyed up the living room and saw that Yasmin was still sleeping on the sofa.

"This is business not social, I'll leave that to tomorrow." She smirked.

She had an uncomfortable presence about her and I didn't enjoy her company at all.

"How is my mothers defence coming along?" I asked trying to keep things professional knowing my date was in the next room.

"It's coming along very well, but it would make your mothers life much easier if she revealed where she's put the money." She said, pryingly. Raising her eyebrows knowingly at me.

I smiled. Not taking the conversation any further. Leanne stepped towards me until her face was too close for comfort. "You wouldn't lie to me would you?" Her voice hinting at seductive.

"No, I wouldn't." I put my foot down, shutting down every advance she made.

She looked pissed off that I wasn't swooning over her, she took another step closer her lips brushing slightly against my neck. "Good, because if I find out that you know where the money is. I will punish you myself."

A shiver went through my body. I honestly didn't like where she was going with this.
She nipped my neck, I heard footsteps coming into the living room and I jumped away from the predator. Alexa walked in, taking a glance at her, she looked really pissed off.

"Thank you for updating me with the case, Miss Layton. I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight." I snapped trying to get the brunette to leave my house.

Leanne's attention snapped to the Alexa, there was tension in the room caused by the predator. Leanne's eyes squinted slightly in a protective nature causing Alexa's body to tense up. The air sensing that one of them was going to pounce on the other. They stared at eachother for a good couple of minutes until Alexa spoke up.

"You heard the lady. Goodnight Miss Layton."

Alexa walked to my side and put a protective arm around my waist and I shifted closer to the secure feeling she was giving me.

Leanne's eyes locked on her hand on my waist. "Friday, 10 days time 7 o'clock at the Bella Hotel. Don't be late Miss Wood or I will punish you." She smirked, eyeing me like I was a piece of sirloin steak.

Alexa's grip tightened around my waist, any moment now and she was going to snap. "Okay, see you. Miss Layton." I smiled heading to the front door whilst she exit my house. The door shut and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

I turned to Alexa "Now do you understand? She's like a lioness looking for her prey."

She didn't say a word, she was deep in thought.

"What the fuck was that about? Who's the kinky bitch?" My eyes shot up to the voice and Yasmin was sat up staring at me and Alexa.

"Long story, how you feeling?" I asked sitting down next to my younger sibling.

"I'm okay, I feel like I slept for years. How long did I sleep for?"

"Only three hours or so. You had a fit." I smiled sympathetically.

"Oh, right. Thought so. Well I'm going to go to bed. Night love birds." She yawned, dragging her tired body up from the sofa and to the stairs.

"Night." Alexa and I wished in unison. We looked at eachother and we let out a small laugh.

Tonight was going to be a long night.
