Ballad of Rain

Chapter Nine

      Before he could say anything Sam suggested they go to the mall. Rain knew where the mall was but had never been inside. He said okay and they started driving again. When they arrived at the mall, the first place they went was a small pet store. Sam's eyes lit up as they walked around the store. She looked at the fish, then the bunnies, then the birds. As Sam was pulling him around, taking him from animal to animal, Rain couldn't help but stare at the starry-eyed girl with a big smile on his face. After looking at all the animals in the pet store multiple times, they decided to walk around the mall some more. Sam spotted a photo booth and decided she wanted to get pictures with Rain. He reluctantly agreed, not wanting to disappoint her. She cheered out and pulled Rain into the booth and selected the settings for the pictures. After all the selecting was done it gave a countdown. 3. 2. 1. A bright flash went off multiple times and the two posed differently for each, but to Rain's surprise on the last flash Sam turned him towards her and gently kissed his lips. He blushed very badly and the photo booth said that it was complete and started printing the pictures. Rain and Sam stepped out of the booth and looked at the pictures. They smiled and Rain held Sam's hand. They continued walking around the mall for about an hour, then they decided that it was time to go home.
