~Jamie Lynn's POV~
"One extra foamed, decaf, caramel frappachino coming right up!" I said to the next customer awaiting their morning shot of expresso, as I strolled over to the coffee machines and starting whipping it up.
Yup, This is my totally awesome part time job. Starbucks. But hey, these shoes don't pay for themselves!
Anyway, I was working my usual morning shift when I over-heard my friend, and co-worker, Lena, argueing with one the customers. Typical. I mean, new yorkers at 9:47 am can be pretty grumpy and I'm sure the only reason this place hired me is because of my kick-ass attitude. I can be nice when I need to, but people know not to get on my bad side and I'm usually the one who can get even the customers to agree with me.
"Yesss sir, It's supposed to taste like that. it's coffee!" Lena gritted through her teeth.
"Young lady, don't you sass me. Just because it's coffee doesn't mean it's supposed to taste like bitter mucus!" The man snapped back. "Don't they train employees before they trust them to make drinks?!"
"Listen buddy! I've worked here plenty long enough to know how to make a simple iced coffee, How long have you worked here? Oh right, not at all! So I suggest you ethier drink the dang coffee and enjoy it, or throw it away and don't expect a refund!" Lena shot back, her eyes shooting daggers. Quite amusing but I decided i'ts time I step in.
"Excuse me Lena, I heard about your loss, and I'm soo sorry! Things must be really hard for you right now!" I lied as I gave her a hug and started to fake sob. The mans eyes seemed to soften. "And sir, I'm so sorry about your coffee, might I suggest allowing us to add some sugar and whipped cream to sweeten it?" I said while batting my eyelashes and looking as innocent as possible.
"Finally, some proper service! Yes young lady, that would be spectacular."
I took the mans coffee and handed it to one of the other workers to finish the request. I then walked back over to a very stunned Lena.
"I honestly don't know how you find the self control in you to not smack that rude-ass into next week." She said with a chuckle.
I laughed. "Well, when it finally clicks into your brain that bosses don't perferably like it when you scare away the customers, you tend to calm down and play innocent." I batted my eye lashes again and pouted my lips to show what an 'angel' I am.
"Ha-ha, good point. Well I'm off, Better leave before a customer asks for extra cream, and I blow!" We both laughed. "Beisdes, Blakes taking to the beach!" She said dreamily while staring at the cieling with a lovey-dovey smile.
Blake was her boyfriend of 8 months. She seems to really like him, although he doesn't impress me. His too-cool-for-you-so-I'll-just-say-whatever-after-ever-phrase personality irratates me at times. In fact, I'm suprised that a bad boy like Blake it taking Lena to the beach in the first place. Sigh, one day she'll realize she can do better but if shes happy then thats all that matters.
Lena is a couple inches taller then me, of course since I'm kinda on the short side. She has lovely straight, shiny, brown hair. Pretty blue-grey eyes. And glasses. She looks pretty care-free although sometimes she can freak out over little things.
