Twelve Boats

Twelve boats in a circle,

all pointing towards the centre.

On each one / so much went on;

but the crews are gone,

everything is dropped,

the decks are  empty.

Twelve boats are empty, in a circle,

all pointing towards the centre.

The coast is not visible,

there is no wind,

the cargo is intact.

There is no wind to raise the waves.

There is no wind to raise the waves

and the sea is glass.

Below, in the other world,

bones are washed clean.
