Chapter Two: But why?!

Lucy's POV-

As I walk towards the Inn I walk on the ledge next to a stream by the sidewalk I spread my arms in the air. "So what's the plan?" I think to myself in my head. Halfway to my destination I start to get the weird feeling I'm being followed.. I start to walk a bit faster, but then I start to hear footprints now. I quickly turn around to face the person following me. "What are you doing?!" I ask sternly. I see a fairly tall (and handsome I must say) raven haired man. "Uhm walking to the Inn." he says. "Is that ok?" he says like a smart-alec. "Whatever." I say back.

Soon enough I make it to the Inn and walk up to the front desk. I ring the bell and a short old man with white hair soon appears. "Hello," he says with a big grin. "My names Mr. Makorav manger of the Fairy Tail Inn how may I help you two." Two? I think to myself. I look to my right and see that Raven haired boy from earlier standing there.

"May I please stay in one of your rooms for a couple nights please?" I say with a smile. "Sure thing! And will that will for the two of you?" He asks. "N-no!" I say shaking my hands. The boy chuckles. "Okay then lemme have ur name and 70$ then I can set you up with ur room ok miss?"

I hand him the money and say "Lucy, Lucy Heartfillia." with a smile.

Gray'a POV-

"Lucy, Lucy Heartfillia." says the girl. She's young, but not to young. Easy on the eyes. Seems like a nice person. Although I notice as she passes Mr. Mokotav that her money is in cash. And she's only got one small bag with barely anything in it. She seems awfully tired to. She must be a runaway. makes my job easier. After I also pay for a room I ask if I can have one close to her and lie that she's my girlfriend, she's just a bit shy is all.

After that they lead us to our separate rooms.I smile to myself. Mistress Erza will be pleased.

Lucy's POV-

Ugh they stuck me with a room next to that boy. He said his name is Gray I think.. well I should get to bed. As I'm closing the door though someone's foot gets in the way to stop it. "huh?" I say. "Hello there ms. Lucy." It's that boy again!

I make an annoyed face. "What do you need?" I say. "Just your cooperation he says with an evil grin. Just as he lunges towards me I hear a little girl. "Gray stop!" she yells. Now I'm really confused. "Wendy what are you doing here?! you're supposed to be with Juvia!" "Well uhm you see," she says with her arms behind her back,"I told her I wasn't feeling good and that I was going to bed but instead I snuck out. I saw the way that you were smiling at this girl all evilly earlier in the restaurant!"

"Wendy go home!" Gray shouts. I try to run away but He grabs my wrist. "So is this what you've been doing at your new job?!" Wendy says with her fists in front of her. Now Gray has me so one of his arms is holding me by my neck. It's really uncomfortable. "Ever since you started working there you've changed! And not for the better!" she yells again. But now her eyes are starting to water.
"I have to do this Wendy okay?! You wouldn't understand.." Says Gray. "But why!" she yells. Now she's started to cry. "TO KEEP YOU SAFE ALRIGHT." The little girl stands there shocked. She's not crying anymore.

He holds a rag to my nose and next thing I know everything goes black.

Grays POV-

"TO KEEP YOU SAFE ALRIGHT." I yell at Wendy. Then I put the rag over Lucy's nose. She drops to the floor. This is actually my first time doing this so I'm in shock. Wendy runs over and puts Lucy's head in her lap. She looks up at me crying "You monster." she says with shaky breath. Damn she acts like I killed her. "She's still alive ok Wendy I just knocked her out. Now go home before Juvia starts to worry." She runs away.

I lean my back to the wall and sink down to the ground. I bend my legs and pull them to my chest and let my head falls on my knees. I start to cry and think about that unfaithful day.

~flashback 6 months ago~

I had left Wendy at home while I went to do some shopping. She was watching cartoons when I told her I was leaving so she should be ok. As I open the door I hear a scream. Wendy's scream! I dropped the groceries and run inside. Wendy's passed out hanging over some women's shoulder. She had brilliant red hair and an evil smile on her face.

"Please no don't take her!" I shout reaching my hand out towards her. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't." She replies coldly. "She's only 12, she all I have! Please I'll do anything!" She sets down Wendy on the couch. "Fine. Now you work for me. If you refuse and do not show up I will come back and kill you both." She hands me a card and walks out. I run over to Wendy and sit by her until she wakes up. "What happened?" she's in tears. "Nothing don't worry I say, you just had a bad dream."

A/N- hey I hope you guys like it! I know these last two chapters have mostly been about gray and Wendy but that shouldn't be the case anymore now we really get into the story! Also I'm sorry it's not quite that long.. Let me know if you like the story or not!
