- Skylar's POV -

"So Peter," I turned my head him. " As I was saying before, my name is Skylar, Skylar Morris. Got it memorized?"

"It'll definitely be a name I would never forget."

He stared at me for a while. Honestly, it kind of creeped me out. My head tilted to the side with confusion.

"You okay there, Petey?" I chuckled awkwardly.

"Uh, ye- yeah. I'm good."

The boys and I continued talking about random stuff like Fortnite, Arrow, Star Wars, etc. Eventually, the bell rang, signaling us that it was time to head to the next class. I pick up my bag, then stood up. Will and Ned continue talking, Peter sparked a conversation with me, however.

"Hey, w-what class do you have next?"

"Um, let me check." I unzip my backpack, pulling out my schedule. Afterward, I handed the sheet of paper to Peter.

"Hm, it seems that your next class is Biology," he informed me, intensely staring down at the paper in his hands. "Cool, I'm in your class! We have Mr. Ruffalo. He's really nice and funny. Ruffalo lives in my apartment building, so that's how I know him."

I giggled at the way Peter would ramble. At least he's not stuttering now. Peter looked at me shocked by my laugh. His eyes widen with surprise from the sound that escaped my lips. My head naturally tilted with confusion at the boy.

"Peter, what's wrong?" I asked concerned.

"N-nothing," he quickly swiveled his head away from me, getting shy all over again. I sighed quietly. So much for no more stuttering.

Peter lifted up his head, realizing where we were. "Skylar, we're here."

I brought my attention to the classroom and slowly walked inside and Peter trailing my steps. I looked at the desks noticing it's those tables where you share with someone.

I swiveled my head to look at Peter. Asking him with my eyes if he would be my lab partner.
I took his boyish grin as a yes and we took our seats. We are the second table to the front and all the way to the left windows. Peter took the window seat and I sat next to the aisle. We talked for a bit since we had time to spare.

"So, Peter, tell me about yourself."

"W-well, um, what do want to know?

"I don't know. Just tell me anything."

"Well, uh, I'm 14. I was born and raised here, in Queens. Oh, I live with my uncle and aunt in an apartment. I like the color red. And... I want a pet dog."

I wanted to ask about his parents, but I help back my tongue. If I ask, I'll be invading too much of his privacy.

"How about you, Sky?" I quickly notice the nickname, it's what my family naturally calls me. However, Peter thought I dislike the nickname cause I didn't answer right away.

"Or Skylar?! I'm sorry, I sh-shouldn't have given you a nickname right away. I mean we just met and I-"

"Peter," I cut him off. I placed my hand on his shoulder, looking into his chocolate eyes to make sure I have his attention. "It's fine. I like the nickname."

Peter sighed in relief. "Th-that's good."

"I'm 14. I move around a lot but live with my two brothers at the moment. I like the color green and want a pet lion."

"I don't think they sell those here."

"Dammit..." I played along.

Mr. Ruffalo walked in, calming down the class. He introduces himself and unlike Hiddleston, we already had work. How Ruffalo was explaining the lab, it seemed simple. Peter was genuinely into the experiment. I knew most of the tools cause my other uncle helps me out with science. He is known for his intelligence of gamma rays at most though.

I have a huge family, just uncles, and aunts but none are actually related to me. They are all heroes to me. However, my brothers are the only blood related to me. We are basically adopted from them but as right now we are living on our own. Which we don't mind at all.

I basically zoned out the whole entire lecture that was spoken by Mr. Ruffalo. I'm not much of a listener when it comes to being taught, I focus better when it comes to hands-on activity. I just wanted to jump into the experiment already. Parker seems to bounce in his seat, you can see the excitement flashing in his eyes. He was hanging on every word Mr. Ruffalo spoke out.

Finally, the lecture was finished and we can get into the lab. Peter was taking the lead, me assisting him. Good thing too, he knew way more than me. He started to stir the beaker. I couldn't really recall, but Peter did mention something about potassium and lithium being components.

"Hey Sky, pass me the sulfur please."

I woke up from my daze, not realizing that I was looking at him the entire time.

"Oh sorry, here you go." I passed him another beaker. He mixed all of them together. The chemicals started to fizz up. I looked at him, a little worried. The bubbles growing.

"Um, Pete... is that supposed to happen?"

"No, you gave me sodium. Right?

My eyes grew wide. I looked at the edge of our desk, the sulfur untouched.

"Um, no..."

Mr. Ruffalo started to walk by, checking the progress of his students, he turned to face ours, worry written on his face. An expression mimicking mine and Peter's. He looked at us then back at our beaker.

"Everyone duck!"

Peter pulled me down to hide behind my desk like everyone else, I could hear the glass shatter. Hopefully, that won't cost a lot. One of the shards grazes my cheek. Peter and I slowly peaked up, looking at our failed experiment. The classroom was extremely quiet.

"Oops..." I said, embarrassed.

A/N: Sorry, I have been extremely busy. This one is a little short, but hopefully, the next one will be longer and the updates will be faster.)
