Chapter 7- To carry love
"Earth to Brooklyn." Brook quickly snapped out of his trance. He had been daydreaming (ill let you decide what he was daydreaming about).
"Brook, do you care to tell me why you have been staring at Jack sleeping for the past 5 f**king minutes?" Andy asked. "I thought you loved Rye." Brook's heart started pounding out of his chest. He didn't know what to say.
"Yeah Brook. Tell me. I'm curious." To Brook's dismay, Rye appeared on the scene. They stared deep into each other's eyes. Then Brook dashed out the room and shut the door, waking up Jack.
"What did I miss?" He said sleepily. Rye and Andy shrugged.
"Nothing. It was nothing." But it wasn't just 'nothing' to Rye. He vowed to get to the bottom of it no matter what.
Chapter 8- We are still kids
Andy and Mikey noticed that Brook and Rye had been mostly avoiding each other for the past couple days. They didn't know what was going on in their heads but they were willing to bet it was trouble in the near future. Rye was alone in the room when Andy walked over to his bunk. Everyone else was out. He seized the opportunity.
"Is something the matter Rye? You can tell me anything." Rye slowly took off his headphones. Andy peeked over at his phone screen. The playlist Rye had been listening to consisted of songs like: Sign of the times (Harry styles), New man (Ed sheeran) and This town (Niall horan). Obviously, Andy knew all along what was happening but he wanted Rye to realise and say it for himself.
"Nothing Andy. I don't want you worrying about me." Rye slipped his headphones back on. In frustration, Andy told himself not to be so vague if he was going to get Rye to say anything.
"How are you and Brooklyn?" Immediately after asking Andy mentally kicked himself for asking such a stupid question. Rye took his headphones off once again. His face carried no emotion. His face was completely unreadable to Andy. After a moment of thought though, Rye finally said,
"I don't know Andy. I don't know what's going to happen to us now that Jack has come along." Suddenly, the story poured out, taking Andy by surprise.
"I've been noticing Brook making those puppy dog eyes at Jack. And always making excuses to be with him over me. I do like Jack and I would hate to hate him and right now i'm not mad at him. It's not his fault Brook has started falling for him. I just wouldn't want to think how different my life would be without Brook." That was the longest passage of speech Rye had spoken in days. It reminded Andy of something a child or child at heart might do. He put an arm around Rye but he shrugged it off. Rye rarely cried, but Andy could see his eyes starting to get moist. Rye quickly got out of his bed, went out the door, into the bathroom, and locked the door behind him.
Chapter 9- So in love
(Rye's POV)
I don't want to think about anything. I don't feel like myself anymore. All I want to do is lock myself out of the world. Perhaps not forever, but definitely right about now.
I don't understand many things. (Like how drinking toilet water or candle wax could be dangerous.) But I understand that Brook has started getting feelings for Jack. He couldn't have made it more clear.
And I respect the choices he makes. I want him to be happy. But at what cost am I willing to pay?
What else can I say? Love does weird things to you.
Chapter 10- Fighting against all odds
One afternoon, Jack found Brook in the bathroom. He had been 'brushing his teeth' for about 10 minutes now. (Hi evelyn)
