The illusion of our humanity
planets orbit my mind
maybe that's why they always had to remind me
that I was not destined to be troubled by human emptiness
I could wonder through galaxies watch the creation of supernovas
but still breathe through my corrupted lungs
you can still find me digging in acres of marshy land
dirt embedded underneath my finger nails
trying to uncover visions of the future
I was often told it's just medicine for my wanderlust
they only uttered these words because they couldn't see beyond their seas and skies
they hide underneath their humanity
while I fall on meadows my knees hitting the satin fields
mocking there doubt in me from above
and now I see their seas from the skies
and they can no longer tell me I am sick
