The Cursed Paradise (Edentia Online)

Chapter 3

I have a blurry vision, but I tried gazing to an object that shines brightly. It looks like the sky is clear, cloudless. A slight of breeze wind sweeping my face. I found myself laying on the coarse grass facing open skies.

I studied the surroundings, it is a vast, huge world with a blue sky.

The grey thin cloud are rolling aroud and it's stared snowing, there are sparkling crystals falling from above in order.

I reached my hand trying to feel the crystal, it falling to my hand. Even it is a virtual world with virtual 'common sense' I could feel the cold crystal in my hand, the crystal soon melted by my hands warmth, it was a snow; it is not a white dust like usual but in beautiful hexagonal.

The sky showed some opening portal tunnels, players are falling into ground. A tunnel fastly formed above me, before I could escape, a male player fell his head first hit my head.

"Ouch, its hurt, who set the tunnel here ?" I rubbed my head.

"Ss.. sorry, I didn't see you there." He winched with pain, and rubbed his head.

He was a boy maybe around my age, he wore black hoodie with grey stripes on the chest. His silver bangs covered by the hoodie.

"It's okay, not your mistake though.. it's the sytem who puts you there" I took a glance at him for a while. Something familiar hit me on my though when I saw him. "Anyway, who are you ? you look like my old friend back then."

He removed his black hoodie, swinged his silverish hair. A boy with girlish grin and slanted eyes, Jonathan.

"Huh ? Liz what are you doing here ?"

"You don't say." I rolled my eyes.

Jo asked me "I don't even know you're interested in gaming things. Do you know the tutorial ? I'm sure you have to known those."

"There's no tutorial thing popped in my message. Lyra said she will guide me but, no sign of her presence." I waved a gesture several times, but still a blank holographic screen that popped in front of me. "Maybe she could be seen in starting city, do you know where is it ?"

Jo then dragged me into Hastille City, we ran across the snowy field passing many players. Some of them then followed us to the city.

Hastille City is the starting city of [Edentia Online]. Jo told me all starting needs in the game could be found there. A big stone walls surrounding Hastille City; this mighty city. Blue carved metal with golden sparkle gate welcomed us as we entered. The black four towers stood proudly in the center of the city. It produced colourful aura wave forming a dome for the city.

The aura formed a screen, then it showed an image of a man. Robert Brown; the game master of Edentia Online, beside him stood a girl with bright blue eyes and bob cut white hair.

"Greetings adventurer ! Welcome to Edentia Online. I, Robert Brown as the game master glad to see your enthusiastic spirit ! Anyway, the tutorials menu will be guided by Lyra," Lyra waved her hands and smiled happily.

"Hi ! nice to meet ya all ! yep, as this old man said, haha" She gigled loudly, Robert shot a death glare to Lyra. "Okay, sorry then.. don't take it seriously man." She swinged a fist into air "I'll do my best for you all." Cherish smile formed her mouth. Soon Lyra dispersed into alphanumeric codes. A notification message popped in menu, I waved a gesture, and [Lyra] name added into my friend contact.

Everyone are now busy checked their tutorial works.

"I haven't met you yet in this game, I'm Izvatya, what's your name ?"

"Jotan" He replied simply, I raised my eyebrow. "What ? I can't even think about a name, yeah." Jotan shook my hand, then a friend invitation appeared.

Dark cloud rolled over Hastille City, it swirled the four towers, an error occurrence notification blinked red dot many times. From the top of the towers a man in black robe with paladin black sword on his left hand with blood dripping slowly.

"Greetings, I'm Zagato. Y'all known me from the game history, and bla bla bla. Cut those up let's be straight forward. I'm sorry people, the game creator has died." the black hood wizard said with an evil laugh.

How come he did this ?

"But that's not enough" he added. "I hacked the game database that causes malfunction on the game engine." he waved a gesture, pressed the logout button to the sytem trash can."Well for starter, I have erased the log out button." After he said that the whole crowd furiously saw him.

"But, I have to finish my deadline." A knight with black coat said, followed by other people.

"Well, I have a meeting to attend."

"Oh no, I haven't finished my work."

"Mom would be mad at me." A girl with green hair cried loudly.

Damn it! I hate this guy. I cursed him inside my thought.

When suddenly Jotan remove his gray sword from its sheath. "I have to do something to this merciless man."

"Jo! don't do that.." before I finished my words

"HEY !" Jotan shouted at the man in black hood, his voice breaking the crowd into silence. "We can contact our relative to turn off the machine-thing from the outside." he pointed his sword towards Zagato.

Zagato jumped from the tower, he landed with a loud sound, dust engulfed around the place he landed. Zagato pointed his paladin sword to Jotan. Jotan seemed nervous and put his sword to its sheath again.

"What a genius idea, why don't you try it first huh ?" after Zagato said that a player trying to logged out.

The male player seen to be happy at first, but something strange happened. He screamed in pain holding his chest, and then scattered into glowing dusts.

"May God bless his soul." Zagato make a gesture of cross to the dusts.

"Everyone who died in this game will died in the real world as well." Jotan said a conclusion about that death scene. "Just like SAO anime series." His head lowered, and desperate look seen in his glare.

"You understand that quickly, good." Zagato nodded. "To finish the game, acquire [Broken Keys] to open the sky of Edentia. Well I accidentally broke it into pieces, that mean you must assembly those pieces to get the real form of [Broken Keys]. There are nine pieces of them placed in random fighting place. Anyway I'll left one present for you all." He stomped the ground and suddenly jumped to the high skies, and gone from sight.
