When the lights went out, all I could hear was screaming. Voices rang, crying pleas of, "Help me!" and "This wasn't my fault!" My raspy breathing became shallow as a figure loomed over my head. My shaking hand grasped for something, anything, to protect myself with. I felt something cool touch my hand, and I automatically tightened my hand around it. I swung what I now saw was a shovel in front of me, frantically searching for what terrorized the people around me. Then, colors danced in front of my eyes, and everything fell into darkness......
I gasped, now awake, and panting, trying to calm my rapidly pulsing heart. The chains around my wrist clanged together as the van rumbled forward on the uneven ground. My blurry vision cleared as the grogginess of sleep slowly started to fade. Confusion crept into my mind as I took in the unfamiliar sight around me. The space around me was empty, save for the shackles that bound me to the thin metal walls. I could hear nothing but the rumble of the van that held me hostage, and could feel nothing but the crisp cold of the metal around me.
