"so, what happened with Kevin here?" the man said behind me. The one with the knives scratched the back of his head. "We kind of gave him a chance to run away from us. The door was open and-" "What did I say about locking the doors?" the man behind me said sternly. They both flinched at him. "A-Always lock them." the brunette stuttered. "Look, I know youre new Aleks, but try to keep up with the rules, or I'll personally see you as food the next time you break them. You understand?" the man shoutted. "Aleks" nodded. The dirty blond was casually looking bored as he looked at the one behind me. "And I suppose you killed him, Seamus?" "Seamus" rolled his eyes. "wanted to." he sarcastically said.
"What are you gonna do about the girl?" Seamus said, as all eyes turned to me.
"the usual and all." he said as he dragged me by the hair and I let out an "ouch". With Aleks at the front, the other man dragging me, and Seamus behind. I let myself wonder in sleep.
I woke up to a strange room, with another boy, who's left hand was gone. He was bleeding, and if it doesn't stop, then he'll die. I quickly grabbed a piece of cloth and began tying his hand, cutting off the blood loss. I sighed. I gave what I can offer, there wasn't anything here, not even a proper bandage to wrap is arm.
I now studied the surroundings clearer, and apparently I was in a cell. Across the room was stairs leading up, and I was guessing I was at the basement.
About five minutes later, a young man came in view. He had a surgery mask on and a white lab coat with blood as I was expecting. He came in the cell, and grabbed the boy who was groaning from the sudden contact. The man saw the work I did, and stared at me. "Did you do this?" he asked. I nodded simply. " Why?"
The sudden question made me think back. Why did I do that? "I guess it's an instinct I got from Medicine." I said a bit sad. He shot a surprising look. "Hmm? The course of Medicine you say." he said, nodding in approval. I shot him a confuse look. "Stay there." he said as he left with the boy in his hands.
I was laying my back against the wall, head on top of my knees which were half bent. Was this really it? Not being able to finish college, not even saying goodbye to my family and friends, dying a horrible and painful death? The man came back and opened the fence. "hey." he greeted me happily. I was a bit confused. "I decided not to kill you, since you're in the Medicine course. I could use some help with things." he said, as he laid me onto a chair. He grabbed a scalpel, and grabbed my hand, crushing it. "don't move, or it will hurt more." He said, now serious and forceful, all his bubbly expressions were gone now. I was trying to bite down the pain. He was carving something from my skin, it was "SLY". "that's my nickname. My real name is Eddie, but call me sly. I carved my name down so the others won't think you're food." he said as he dabbed the cloth on my scarred arm. I yawned, and he looked at his wrist watch. "it's two in the morning. Better get some sleep." he said as we stood up and went out of the basement. We entered a hallway and turn to see another flight of stairs. We entered a room on the far end, and he opened it to see the room.
It had a vibrant wooden floor and walls. A soft bed in the middle with red sheets and two soft white pillows. There was a desk on the right side, with the window simply across, the blinds were shut close, so I can't really open it. Besides the blood stains across the room, everything seemed normal to me.
"this used to be Kevins room. Until the bastard ran away." he said with a dark chuckle. "You'll be staying here for the rest of the night. The windows shut tight so you can't really escape. I'll be locking the door, need anything before I leave? I'm seeing you again in the morning." he asked. I shook my head. "by the way, if even escape, or even try to, I will have no choice but to kill you. Disobey my orders and I will harm you. Understand?" he said, in a stern manner like the man before, except the man had a different voice. I nodded tensely. "good. Now get some rest."
And I slepted through the night.
I never really though about any of this to happen. I was supposed to be killed for food, but since I was in the medical course, I could be of use to them. My happy future of working as a doctor became to a lowly assistant of killing humans for food. I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.
I stood in front of the house in the middle of the woods. The moonlight shown upon my face as I was covered in blood. Someone else's blood.
I was shaking, I couldn't control my body. I was walking and saw a person looking back at me;
She was pale, with dirty hair, and blood stained clothes. She was holding a knife on her hand, eyes were filled with horror, and a chaotic smile formed her lips.
I realize that girl was me. That was my reflection.
I noticed the bodies on the floor. Aleks and Sly's were there, there's another one I didn't know. In front of me standing was more people looking angrily at me, I don't even know them, except for one, it was Seamus. My lips formed a smirk, and started laughing like a psycho.
They charged at me, but I didn't really care since I couldn't control my movements nor what I was saying.
I glanced at a dark shadow, seeing another boy smirking deviously. He wasn't attacking, or helping out, he just watched us.
