Chapter 4: Working in the cafe

I finally enter the cafe. I walk to the counter and greet the cashier.

"Annyeonghaseyo! I found a poster infront of your shop. I just want to apply for this job." I said while pointing the poster in my hand.

"Ohhh...okay just wait in here. I'll ask the manager." She said as she let me sit in the chair. After 5 minutes of waiting she finally come back with the manager of the shop beside her.

"Manager she is the one who wants to apply in the job." The girl I talk a while ago said to the manager while pointing to me.

"Uh okay, you can go back now to your work min hye."

"Yes manager!" the girl exclaim while saluting. The manager walks closely to me. I stand up from the chair and bow.

"Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Park Yoon Mi. I want to apply as a worker in your cafe."

"Annyeong, my name is Jung Song Yi. I'm the manager of the shop" she said. I can't believe she's the manager of the shop because of her age. She's around twenties I think.

"Here is the form that you need to answer. The rules and policies in the cafe are also included in there, so you should read it."

"Ne"

"Just enter that door when you're done answering. I'll be interviewing you."

"Arraseo, kamsahamnida" The manager left and went to that door. I sit in the chair again and fill up the form. After 10 minutes of writing, I'm finally done. I also done reading the rules and policies of the cafe. I walk to the door and knock.

"Come in" I enter the room and close the door.

"Sit here Ms. Park" she let me sit in the chair infront of her. I give her the form and she reads it.

"So your only 18 ... why did you want to work here? Are you still studying in school?"

"I don't go to school anymore because I need to work to help my mother pay our debts and also for our primary needs. That's the reason why I want to work here. Also Ms. Jung, the school year is nearing to end and I'm graduating this year. I can't attend in my graduation because I need to find a job as soon as possible but don't worry my mother will get my diploma."

"Uhh...okay, so you really really need a job."

"Ne"

"Arraseo, you will now work here"

"Jinja!?, kamsahamnida" I bow

"Since your a good daughter, I think you will also be a good worker."

"I will"

"Okay good, here's your uniform you can start working"

"Kasahamnida Ms. Jung"

"Okay quit the formalities, you can talk to me informally and call me eonnie instead."

"Uhmmm... can I call you manager instead..."

"Why? Is there a problem, you calling me eonnie?"

"It's just that when I say it, I remember my eonnie...."

-Manager/ Jung Song Yi pov-

"It's just that when I say it, I remember my eonnie...." she said with sadness in his face. I don't know why is she like that. Maybe, she has family problems. It also states in her application form that she lives with her auntie but her auntie migrates to other country because of her job. Maybe she really has family problems. I should better not ask about it.

"Uh..okay I understand, you can just call me manager or noona." I said.
