The bored thirteen-year old girl stared out of the car window at the figures zooming past, too fast for her eyes to conceive,as she tightened the hold on her Dodgers cap. Her mother turned around in the passenger seat(her father was driving) and gave a radiant grin to the girl's sister,Adrianna. Her mother then looked at the girl herself, disgusted. She had always wanted one perfect girl. Instead, she got a perfect girl, and a disgusting, freakish cat-thing.

In other words,Sophia was a Neko.

"Sophia," she barked,"stop being so moody!" Sophia's mother lifted her left hand and slapped her across the face. Adrianna flipped her long hair back and smirked at Sophia with an I-told-you-so look as blood rushed to the tender hand-shaped mark on her cheek, turning the skin a light pink.

Before she knew it,she was roughly shoved out of the sleek Prius that the family shared onto the newly mowed grass. Looking up,Sophia saw a four-story brick house painted a buttery yellow.

Grabbing her backpack, she trudged to the porch, until a screeching of brakes alerted her. A gigantic moving truck labelled Corman & Sons: Helping YOU Move Since 1869!

A car, this time a Jaguar, pulled up in the driveway. A blonde-haired man and woman, presumably husband and wife, exited the car, along with two boys Sophia's age, thirteen. One boy with golden-brown hair and blue eyes leaped up and ran to the house, while the other one lagged behind, also clutching a backpack. He had dark brown hair and blue eyes.

Immediately, her mother put Sophia in a chokehold, dragging her to the neighbours, while Adrianna and their father walked in front.

Sophia squeezed out of the tight hold, coughing,as the neighbours approached. "Hello," said the blonde-haired woman,  "I'm Mary, this is Peter," her husband nodded,"and these are our two sons,Jeff and Liu." The lighter-haired one,Liu,waved to Adrianna, and she flashed a grin and flipped her light brown hair for the second time that day as Jeff walked over to Sophia. "Do you like Pokèmon?" Sophia asked. "It's got to be the best game," Jeff said. "Cool." She took off the backpack and took out two Nintendo 3DS XL'S,then put Pokèmon X & Y in both of them, then handed one to Jeff. He grinned and took it. "Dude. This is awesome!" He high-fived her, then they lay on the grass, battling their Charizards and Piplups. "Piplup's a funny name," Jeff muttered. "Not as weird as Cubchoo," Sophia said. "Dude. They have the weirdest cold. YES!" She laughed and threw her fist in the air. "I just beat you," Jeff said. "I know," she said,"but that flame-horse whose name I can't remember reminds me too much of Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony."

"Ew." Jeff shuddered. "You watch that silly pink frilliness?!" Sophia looked horrified. "Oh,God no! Although it would be a great torture tactic." She laughed.
