Tommie stood in awe at the hustle and bustle of the large city. Traffic was packed and the sidewalks were filled with people walking in different directions. She could barely hold her composure, she felt like a kid in a candy store after their mom said they could have whatever they wanted. For weeks, Tommie anticipated this day and could hardly contain her excitement.
"Sis relax. Come on our uber is here." Tommie's best friend Tai said gaining her attention.
Grabbing the handle to her suitcase she quickly walked to catch up with her best friend.
The drive from the airport to the girls new condo was a hour long and while Tommie eyes were glued to the window as she took in her surroundings, Tai was half sleep but couldn't quite enjoy a quick nap due to the lack of space in the backseat of the car. The jet lag from the flight had Tai irritable and grumpy. She honestly could not wait to shower and climb into her new bed. Shortly after the two arrived to their destination and both girls couldn't have been happier.
They were finally at their new home.
Tommie and Tai had made a huge, life altering decision to pack up their things and move out of state. While Tommie was born and spent majority of her young adult life in Chicago, Tai was born and raised in Houston. After the death of her mother Tommie moved to Houston to stay with her aunt. The death of her mother was a hard time for her and moving to a new state was even tougher. For a while Tommie was very closed off, not only emotionally but socially as well. She wasn't open to meeting people or making new friends. Until one day in the cafeteria a fight broke out and Tommie noticed a small girl fighting against three bitches. Tommie found herself helping the girl fight and they dogged all three hoes. After that fight the two were inseparable. Tai was the wild outspoken firecracker, were as Tommie was the more chill friend of the two. The two were both only nineteen years old so when they broke the news of moving from Houston to Atlanta neither of the girls families were in agreement with the idea. While Tommie's Aunt thought Tommie was not ready for such a huge step. Tai's parents felt she needed to stay close to family and that Atlanta was too far for the two young girls to live by themselves. Both Tommie and Tai had made their minds up about the move and would be following through with their plans wither without the support of their loved ones, but luckily their families came around and were willing to support the girls dreams no mater what. Finances were not a issue for either of the best friends. Even though the death of Tommie's mother was unexpected she had covered all bases while she was alive to make sure that her daughter would be financially secure when she was no longer living. Tommie's aunt made sure Tommie never touched any of that money, she took care of Tommie like she was her child. She made sure Tommie never went without or felt the need to have to use the money that was left for her after her mom's passing. The two were in Houston in hopes of opening their own salon and building from there.
"We hereeeeeee!" Tommie squealed jumping out of the car before it had even stopped. After grabbing their bags from the trunk the two headed inside. It took the girls months to agree on a place for them to stay that they liked. They were both picky as hell but after disagreeing on almost everything the other liked the two found the perfect place.

With the help of the girls family they made several trips to Atlanta to move their things and furniture in so when they finally came down they would already be settled. The condo was a three bedroom, two and half bath with a kitchen, dining and living room. Once they were inside they went their separate ways to shower and change into something more comfortable.
Tommie pulled out her phone to send a quick text to her Aunt to let her know she had landed and had made it home. Being the neat freak that she was Tommie had her clothes separated by shirts, undergarments in her dresser drawers, while her jeans and dressed were hung up in the closet. Grabbing a t-shirt and a pair of panties she laid them across her bed before heading to her bathroom. One of the things that helped the girls with their decision to pick the place was the fact they were able to have their own bathrooms and the extra half bathroom for company. Everything she needed for her shower was already in the bathroom so after turning the shower on and adjusting the water temperature to her liking she stepped in. Before she knew it thoughts flooded her head and she couldn't help but smile and send a quick prayer up to God thanking him for the many blessings he had been sending her way. In her eyes this was the first step towards her dream and she couldn't be more thankful and grateful. She was excited for this new beginning. Her and Tai both had big dreams and together they could and would not be stopped. There was so many opportunities in Atlanta and she planned to use all of them to her advantage.
