"Miss y/l/n, I've alerted Mr. Stark and Mr. Rogers you were looking for them." F.R.I.D.A.Y. Announced suddenly, Bucky sprang to his feet, rushing out the door. Leaving you bewildered and confused, you pushed yourself up from the floor. You walked slowly back to you room, hoping you hadn't done something wrong.
The look on his face about the Cyclone made it seem like something he knew but didn't know. It was such a happy memory, why did he look so confused by it. You sat down on the edge of your bed, maybe you miss read his face, maybe it wasn't such a good memory.
A soft knock on the door way pulled you from your thoughts. Your eyes landed on Tony.
"Alright Sight Seer, what'd you do to the snow prince?" He asked walking in and taking a seat next to you. You looked down at your hands.
"He was having a nightmare, a flashback." You sighed, pulling you knees to chest, remembering the pain. "Neither of you were here."
"Kid, you know capsicle's rules on going into Bucky's room."
"I know, it's just... it's just he sounded like he was in soo much pain. I couldn't just let him feel that." You replied meekly, eyes down cast.
"And if he went all murderous on you? Then what? Think how that'll make us all feel." His words were soft and full of concern. "That being said, what ever happened he hasn't stopped yammering on about it to Steve."
"What do you mean?" Your voice shook, closing your eyes dreading the worst.
"You remind him of the Cyclone, evidently something he could or doesn't remember." Tony patted your bare knee and stood. "Remember there are rules in place when it comes to him. That being said, you did good."
"I did?" Confusion lacing your words.
"You did, I knew you would." He turned leaving you more confused then when he came in. You pushed yourself to the back of the bed, leaning against the headboard. You looked over at the long gold staff resting in the corner.
It's was 'tool' for you to focus your mind on, Tony's attempt at helping you harness your power. He was sure that you could do your trick on inanimate objects like you do on people, though you never have before.
You pulled yourself from the bed, reach out your grasped the item. The cool metal heavy in your hands. Your eyes following the smooth metal as it curved inward toward the top. Slowly you closed your eyes, focusing on the feel of it.
All you could feel was confusion, fear, and power. Oh, the heartbreak, your own family, no not family, fake. That's what they were, fake, you weren't one of them. How dare they! Don't they know who you are? The rightful ruler.
"Y/n?" Steve's soft voice startled you back and you dropped the staff. You blinked at for a brief moment.
"Yes?" You slowly turned your gaze to him.
"Practicing with the scepter Tony brought you?" He asked sitting on your bed, you looked down at it.
"He was in pain, his heart was broken. He believed his family betrayed him, but he also wanted power though, and lots of it." You replied to him. "Who was he?"
"Loki of Asguard." He motioned for you to sit next to him.
"When you leave, please take it with you." Your eyes finally met his. "That's not what you came here talk to me about though is it?"
"You're right, it's not why I came here." A small sad smile traced his face. "Give me your hand."
Tentatively you placed you hand in his, suddenly you were hurdled back in time.
You looked up at a younger Bucky, his face smooth and his short hair brushed back. A glint of mischievousness hinted in those blues eyes.
"Awe, Steve, come on it's just a ride. It'll impress the girls." Bucky's voice light and full of humor.
"Well, if you think so. Can't keep the ladies waiting." Steve's voice came out, you could feel a small smile spread across your face. He clapped you on the shoulder as the two of you walked over to the beautiful women.
Francine caught the crook of Bucky's elbow, Dot looked over at you her red hair in spirals as she sighed. Who are you kidding, you knew she didn't want to be here with you, she'd rather have a man like him any day.
The four of you boarded the Cyclone, it wasn't long before you threw up all over you and your date.
"Bucky couldn't remember that, until now." He spoke pulling his hand from yours. The room stills felt like a tiltawhirl, you braced both hands on your bed, eyes wide as you tried not to hurl on Captain America.
"Next time, warn me it's a roller coaster." You spoke between gritted teeth, slowly blinking trying to regain focus.
"Sorry, didn't realize it would make you feel like that." He looked at you with brows drawn down.
"I see what you saw, I felt what you felt, I hear what you heard. Your thoughts become mine." You breathed, your eyes finally connecting with his. "That's what happens. All of it."
"You went to Bucky when he was having a night mare, you saw it didn't you."
"I'm not telling you, that's invading his privacy. And trust me, there are things you don't want to know." You spoke calmly.
"Why did you go to him?" He ask softly. "That was the number one rule I had."
"I know, it's just, I couldn't stand the sound of him in pain. He's so strong, and reserved, the thought of him being in pain knowing I might be able to stop it." You sprang from your bed, running both your hands through your hair. "I just I had to try."
"I understand, but you can't just go in there. When he's like that, he forgets who he is. And he can easily kill you!"
"You think I don't know that, I read about him on the front page, I've seen him train. I've seen in his memories. I know exactly how easily he could kill me." Your voice raised an octave. "But I wasn't just going to sit there and do nothing cause that's not who I am."
"Y/n, maybe it's better if we moved..." Steve was cut short.
"No, she stays. Right here in this room." Bucky's voice was stern, his stoic features were back. Electric blues eyes focused on you, his large body taking up your door way. Your heart leapt, he wanted you here. "She's seen the things I did, if that hasn't scared y/n off then that's on her."
In that moment your heart sank, he still thought of himself as a monster, one that should be avoided.
