I Wake up to my usual annoying alarm going off. I drag myself out of bed and to the shower. I let the warm water take the shampoo out of my hair and the soap off my body. I step out and towel dry my hair then twist it into a bun and let some peices frame my face. Then I dry my body and change into my navy blue scrubs. I put on my shoes, grab my phone and lunch and head to work.

Yes I'm 18 and just graduated and i already have a full time job. I drive down the road listening to the radio and taking in the beautiful sights of San Diego.

I turn into a parking lot and walk into a building with a sign that states "SAN DIEGO ANIMAL HOSPITAL" we are the best animal hospital in California and I'm lucky to be working here ad a vet tech. We have three vet techs and two doctors

"Hi Cassie" I hear s female voice with a British accent say. Lacy has worked with me for a year or so when I volunteered here. She helped me out alot and taught me everything i need to knoe so we have been friends for a while even tho she is 25 Years old

"Hi Lacy" I reply and log into my computer to see who is coming in today.

"Truffles is coming today" I whine "He bit me last time" I say.

"Hi Kristol" I say as she walks in and she smiles in return

"So Cassie get this, this girl comes in yesterday and complained that the vaccine that we gave her dog, Gave her whole family kennel cough" Kristol says laughing

"Did you tell her that we humans can't get it?" I say laughing

"I tried" she says logging in "Truffles today seriously??" she complains as well.

I walk up front and see two people and their dog.

"Kristol will take you in this room" I say and the older one who I think is the mom goes with the dog and the son stays out

"Hey beautiful" he says and I turn around "Hi I'm Cassie"

"Tell me about your self" He says and j sit next to him

"Well I'm Cassie and I'm 18 and I only work her because we need money... hoe about you?" I ask

"My name is Luke, I'm 19 and I have a twin brother Jai, I'm Also pretty famous" he says but before I could say anything someone walkd in.

"Sammy! I remember you and Rex" I say walking over and greeting her and petting Rex.

"This way" I say and take them into an examination room.

"So we are gonna see if he has heart worms?" I say looking to Sammy

"That's correct' she says smiling.

I open a drawer and get a needle ready

I take Rex's leg and slowly put the needle in his skin and take blood.

"Be back soon" I say

I empty the blood onto this thing and let it soak in.

"If the dog is heart worm positive which Rex isn't you could see the worms moving around" I explain to Lacy who hasnt done blood work and throw out the blood filled sponge and walk back to Sammy.

"He is negative you good to go see you soon" I say and wave them goodbye

I walk out to the back with the girls

"Truffles is here!" the receptionist yells

"Not me!" Kristol and I yell at the same time which makes Lacy have to take him. "Don't get bitten!" Kristol yells.

I walk to the front and see Luke about to leave

"Hey Cassie I was wondering if I could maybe have your number?" He says rubbing the back of his neck and looking down "Why not" I reply and write it down and give him the paper.

"Bye beautiful" he says.

My shift ends and I walk to my car and drive home.

"Your home late" My mother says as I walk in the house "I'm sorry I went out to eat and shopping for some new clothes" I say and walk up stairs and I change into some Pajamas and walk down stairs to sit on the couch with her. We talk about our work days and my phone goes off.

Cassie: Sure sounds like fun.

We text till about 11:30 when my eye lids start getting heavier and heavier and I fall asleep.
