It all started with glance, a moment our eyes met, I didn't think much of it at first but that was only the beginning, a new seed just lingering under the soil waiting to be discovered, wanting to be noticed. His name is Tai, just your typical boy, or so you may think. I like to describe him as a Polaroid picture, it starts of as a blank simple sheet and slowly but surely you eyes begin to discover that that insignificant little picture is hiding something, something you never noticed at first. Tai is that picture, still an unfocused blur, but the corners and edges are slowly starting to seek the light and im beginning to see a glimpse of Tai's picture. Yet it's only been a week.

It was a Thursday night and we nearly there. I could already picture the white sand between my toes and the sea breeze filling my nose than wondering past my shoulder to reach my hair. I glanced into the mirror just below the roof of the car and caught mums eyes. She gave me a short soft look and I could tell she was tired. It had been a long trip and I spent the half of it with my window down, letting myself take in my surroundings.

We arrived just after eleven and I collapsed onto my new bed, leaving the car packed with our luggage. I lay my head on the soft seashell patterned pillow and fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning I woke up at exactly 9:00 and just lay there reminiscing on last night. It was a blur so I gave up and decided to explore. The view from my window was unmissable and before I left I caught myself staring at the waves crashing onto the shore, getting lost in thoughts. As I tip toed silently out the door being careful not to stir my parents, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I still had my simple yellow dress on from last night and my long blond hair hung miserably over my shoulders. I tied my hair in a quick messy bun, pulled out a few strands at the front and headed out the door.

Most people describe me as a beach girl. Salty hair, blue eyes, sandy feet and tanned skin. Everything about the beach is beautiful, the way the sand makes noises as it softens under your feet, the way the sound of crashing waves are infinite and most of all just enjoying myself in the waves.

I sat with a blank sheet of paper in one hand and a pencil in the other, seeking a beautiful scene to draw. The lighthouse stood tall in the distance with little waves crashing against it and I couldn't resist. I let my pencil guide me as soft strokes of grey emerged on my page, shading some areas dark and leaving others light. I was in the middle of a stroke when I felt a sort tap on my shoulder. Not mum I hoped, as I turned around, startled to see a boy my age with a mop of messy brown hair, green eyes and sandy feet.

"Wow" was all this mysterious boy could say. I just sat there with a blank look on my face.

"Your really talented, you know?"

"Like Vincent Van goh or something" he announced

I cracked up with laughter, it's not everyday that a unknown cute boy comes over to you and tells you that your just like Vincent Van goh.

" Gee thankyou" was all I could say.

" Could I join you?" he asked

"um sure, ok" I said kind of shocked.

Usually by now I would think he would be gone but he seems pretty confident and I kind of like his smile.

I handed him a sheet of paper and a pencil. There was silence for a few munities with us both sketching away.

Until he said " I haven't seen you around, did you just move here?"

" My family and I are up here on holiday for a few weeks, we arrived last night" I said.
