The Start of a Battle

The alarm clock rang its annoying tone. "beep-beeep-beep" it went in hopes to get its master to wake up on time. It rang and rang as he still was sound asleep.

Chester layed in bed dreaming of being in a band with his 5 bestfriends. The crowd roared as they played a very familiar song named "the Untitled" (in the end demo). The band played perfectly on beat. Brad then missed a beat making everyone mess up. The music suddenly turned into a beep-beeep-beep. The band kept playing to that beat as Chester slowly realized it was his alarm clock.

it was 6:20 am as Chester slowly arose still tired from staying up last night. He slowly crawled out of bed and grabbed his freshly washed and ironed clothing as he checked the clock along the way 6:30am it read. Chester quickly grabbed what he needed and ran to the bathroom in hopes that his stepbrother Alex was still asleep and not using the "good" bathroom. Since Alex seems to spend his whole morning in there fixing his 'oh so precious hair'.

Chester ran into the bathroom, took a quick, steamy shower, and combed his hair. He then walked out the bathroom and headed toward the kitchen. Chester looked through the partially empty pantry. "Where's the cereal?" he asked to no one in particular. Chester and Alex parents were on another one of their honeymoon vacations.They've been gone for a week now and the house is a completed mess. Chester was happy for his father. Before Chester's dad met Mrs.Turner, he was always serious and rarely smiled.

Chester was only 9 at the time and though they didn't have much, his father was a good man. Unfortunately it made him sick to his stomach who his new step brother was, the notorious Alex turner, head gang leader of the Monkeys. His arch nemesis was living two doors right to his room. Two doors left of Alex's room was also Chester, the notorious gang leader of the Soldiers. The reputation of each gang leaders was at stake.

~July 24th 1951~ flashback

It was a couple of months ago that both their parents told them the news. It was then that Chester and Alex made a pact. Alone with Chester at the corner of their new house, Alex told him. " I don't fucking believe it" " I don't care as long as you don't get in my way. I ain't going to ruin my dads only happiness" replied Chester.

" fine by me soldier. We don't tell anyone anything. I'll leave the house right before you. No one better suspect anything". Said Alex

" deal. Ya fucking monkey"

"Let's get this straight. We're not friends. Not brothers. You fucking got it. If I see you out on the streets, ill knife you in the stomach" alex pointed at Chester's chest.

" don't make empty threats,monkey"Chester spit on the dirt and left angrily.

~cut back to jan. 4 1952 first day after winter break~

Chester left in his old pickup truck towards school. He went to pick his old buddy Phoenix and head out towards his gangs parking lot hangout at school.

Chester walked out of the car with Phoenix trailing behind him and meet up with their gang. Michael (the glue) Bradford (bbb/bigbadbrad) ,Joesph(Mr. Hahn)and Robert(bourdie). " hey Chaz, Phe" Mike called out from his spot next to Rob. "whats up" Chester asked "ehh.. these fucking Monkeys wont stop staring i tell you one day ima show it to them" Joe spat. "Hahn calm down, one day we will show them" Rob replied as he glared at the Monkeys who were staring back at them.

Suddenly, the school's speaker box was being turned on. The school's flamboyant office lady was making an announcement. "Ahem, Attention students of Rydell High, we are proud to present a new school event this year! It's called the Battle of the bands! Just like what the name says, each band can participate for the winning title of best band and prize money. Any student will be able to test their fabulous music skills to the whole student body!Oooh...How exciting! The contest will be held on February 20th. all grades will be able to attend to find out more information visit the lovely, Mrs. Noble at room i206. i hope you can all participate for some good, clean fun... and of course, have a wonderful Rydell day students!" the announcement ended.

In Mrs. Richardson's mind, she probably imagined everyone singing show tunes or opera as one big happy student body. Well, she was going to be ridiculously wrong about that dream. The gangs immediately had the same thoughts as the head leaders looked at their groups with the same goofy grin, "we are joining the battle of the bands" they both said.
