She looked over at him from across the room. His smile gave her butterflies. The way he laughed gave her chills, and his voice, oh that sweet sound, made her insides melt.

His eyes showed pain, yet were the color of dark sky when the world was silent and at peace. His hair resembled a warm fall afternoon with a warm breeze and the warmth of the holidays.

His small dimple at the bottom of his chin showed when he smiled, she felt a pain in her chest. The pain in which before was her passionate love for him.

He suddenly turned to her, smiling, she glanced away flustered. He chuckled. It gave her a small sense of hope, that something would happen. She knew she shouldn't hope, it would only hurt her in the end.

Stop. Stop it. Stop thinking about things that will never happen. Stop believing he will walk over here, pick you up and carry you into the sunset. It doesn't work like that. It didn't work like that last time.

She grabbed her things, exiting the class they had together in a hurry. Tears welling in her eyes.

All she wanted was the comfort of those arms, the ones that broke her heart.
