His one worded messages worried her beyond belief.

Did she do something wrong?

Was his day going okay?

Did he not want her anymore?

He was always on her mind, even though she knew she wasn't on his.

It hurt her to know that she was probably wasn't his first choice, or even second or third. But she listened to her gut, she felt he was the one, and always tried to please him.

She knew she only showed up at school to see him, so he could some how brighten up her day, just by smiling, or saying "Hey."

Those glimpses of hope she had for them, retreated and turned into self conscious thoughts. Things that tore her apart, kept her up at night, thinking of ways to become someone he would notice.

Blaming every single one of her flaws, night after night, drove her insane.

She retreated into the corner of her mind, allowing those thoughts to take control. She became numb, because she didn't know her self worth and what it meant to her.
