(Mark's POV)

Over the next couple of days, I started to get a bit tense. Jack and I have been telling each other a lot about ourselves, just to know each other better. But... there was one thing that I couldn't tell him, or it could change everything.
My ex, Yamimash, was back, and he was about to start going to our school again. I was scared, because rumors I've heard was that he was gonna join Jason's posse. Even Jack couldn't fight him, if he still has the same muscle strength I remember.
Even thinking about all of this was making me dizzy. Yami and Jason had never liked each other until recently. I don't know what I did to Yami that pissed him off. He hasn't talked to me for a year, and I have no clue as to why. I guess I'll have to find out...

The next day; Monday...

I was looking for Jack's car, and he told me he needed to talk to Felix right quick and that I could just roam for a bit and then we'd leave, but to be careful of Jason and Marco. And that only I know of, possibly Yami.
Just as I rounded the corner, I was pushed into the wall and held there by my neck. I could feel a popknot already forming on my head. I looked up. It was him.

"Y-Yami," I gasped.
"Ah, so you still remember me, huh," he smirked.
"Yami, what're you doing?!"
"You broke my heart, Mark. So, in return, I'm gonna break you."
"Yami, please, let's talk about this!"
"There's nothing to talk about! You left for a fucking year without talking to me! I was put through so much pain because of you!"
"Yami, I was in pain too!! More than you could ever know or feel!!!!"
"Oh yeah?! FROM WHAT?!"
"YAMI, MY DAD DIED, DAMMIT!!!"

He dropped me and looked at me in shock.

"I was woken up by the sound of my mom's screams," I began, crying. "I ran down the stairs, and he was fucking dying, right there on the fucking floor! He died right in my fucking arms, Yami!! His last words to me were "I love you, so much."... Do you know how bad that killed me?..."
"Mark," Yami started. "I had no idea... I'm so sorry. Jason nor Marco told me anything about that."
"Yeah, that's because Jason nor Marco tell you the truth, huh? Have fun being friends with the-"

Just then, I saw Jack and Felix rush over. They got into a big argument about why Yami did what he did. Finally, it was sorted out, but they were still angry at him. Jack hugged me tightly, since I was crying so hard from having to give that damned explanation to Yami.

"I'm glad you have someone better," Yami started. "He's way better than I could ever be... I really am sorry, Mark."

I got up and walked over to him.

"Yami," I sighed. "Don't blame yourself. You were mad and didn't know the entire truth. I... I forgive you."

I gave him a hug, where he clasped to me tightly.

"How could you forgive me after that," he asked.
"Because," I began. "My dad once said, 'Do not let the shadows of your past darken the doorstep of your future. Forgive and forget.'... And I go by that."
"He was always an inspiration to many..."
"Yeah, he was..."
"Well... I guess I'll see you around?"
"I dunno... As for right now, I was hoping to have some space, then we can start talking again."

He nodded with a small, but heartfelt smile. Jack put his arm around me and we all walked in different directions.

"Who was he," he asked.
"My ex, Yami," I sighed. "He was upset because I didn't talk to him for a year, so he thought I had moved on. So, he broke up with me the day after..."
"I get it; don't say it."
"Anyway, he thought that I was cheating on him and has been mad with me ever since. And why are you asking? Did you get jealous over there?"
"No..."

I saw him turn his face from me. I just shook my head and smiled.

"Jack, I wouldn't leave you for anyone," I promised, kissing his cheek. "You know that. I love you; no one else. Well, besides family and friends."
"I know," he smiled down at me. "I just don't wanna lose ya."
"And you won't. I'm yours, and you're mine. That's how it is with us. My heart belongs to no one else but you."
"Ya mean it?"
"Of course I mean it. Why would I say it if I didn't?"
"...I love you."
"I love you too, Jack."
