chapter 10

*** Ariana'sP.O.V ***

I woke up to my phone ringing. the first thing I noticed was the caller ID.

Austin? whyishecallingmeat 4 inthemorning?

puzzled, I answered and my instincts took over.

" Austin are you ok? " I immediately answered a bit confused.

" I'm fine. " there was a long pause as a waited for him to say why he called me. he never did so I just decided to ask.

" Why are you calling me so early? " I asked still half asleep.

" I need you. " I immediately widen my eyes. I was fully awake now.

" w- what? " I stuttered caught by surprise.

" I said I need you. I'm too drunk to drive home. I can't get pulled over by the cops again. " I let out a sigh and removed the sheets from my body.

" where are you? " I slipped into my fuzzy pink piggy slippers and put a shirt on since I was sleeping in a pair of shorts and a sports bra.

" I'm at the diamond club. " sadly I knew exactly where that was because my dad would always ask me to pick him up there when he was drunk before he left us last year.

" I'm on my way. wait for me outside. " I hung up and rubbed my eyes. I can't believe him.

I grab my car keys and tip toe downstairs quietly trying not to wake anyone especially Frankie. I slide. out the front door making sure to lock it behind me. I hop in my car and start driving towards the diamond club. I almost fall asleep at the wheel but I catch myself before I went into a complete deep sleep. I pull up to the club and he standing there with a bottle of vodka in his hand tasking gulps every two seconds. he looks up and smiles as I pull up next to him. I put down my window and unlock the doors.

" get in. " I say annoyed. he hops in and stares at me for a while before looking out the window. the stench of vodka and sweat fills my car. he smells horrible. he's way to drunk to leave him home alone.

" I love you babe. " he said looking at me with his eyes  blood shot red.

" save the bullshit Austin. your drunk and you don't know who your talking to or what your talking about so do me a favor and stay quiet the rest of the night. " I said starting the car and driving off not giving him eye contact once so ever.

" it was Jai and Lexi. " I immediately stopped the car and looked at him in complete shock.

" what? what was Jai and Lexi?!  " I looked at him straight in the eyes. he looked back almost as if he felt sorry for me.

" Jai hired that guy who tried raping you just to scare you and Lexi knew about it but didn't want to say anything. After the stunt, Jai came and found me at the studio to tell me that it was him and that he regrets nothing. that's when I talked to Frankie about it and that's why he kept insisting for you to get security, not only because of the paparazzi. there's a lot you don't know Ari and its best it stays that way. " by the end of the explanation, I was bawling my eyes out. I can't believe jai would go to that extreme. I haven't done anything to him and Lexi? how could she know and not tell me? I thought she was my best friend! I wiped my tears quickly and started driving again.

the rest of the trip was silent. tears kept streaming down my cheeks but no sound, not even a small sob would escape my mouth. Austin kept looking out the window. he looked scared. he looked paranoid even. what was bothering him? I'm just gonna leave it alone. I've had enough for one night.
