A groan escaped me as a blinding pain came to the front of my head, the smell of damp sewers and men's waste. Blinking my eyes open everything was blurry at first and then everything was cleared, grey walls, a haystack, a bucket to pee in, bars and a fire lantern on the opposite walls beyond the bars. I sat up and instantly started looking for Goldyna in the two cells on either side of me but I could not find her, but there was an old man in the right cell who was staring at me with sunken eyes. "They already took your lady friend; the king came down as well and ever since I was down here he never came down to visit. He seemed quite obsessed with you," I stared at him blankly, I wondered if he ever stopped talking, I pretty much stopped listening when he said they already took Goldyna. "He told the guard to bring you up to him when you awaken, so good luck with that."

"Do you ever shut up? I do not care what comes out of your mouth next, so silence please." And there was, he would not speak or even look at me for a long time until two Elite guards came clanking down the stairs. They had silver armour with golden vines going upwards like they were reaching for something we could not see, they went straight to my cell, so they had to drag me up to put the manacles onto my wrists, they pushed me out and toward the stairs hopefully to where my darling Goldyna was. The fires were lit in the hallways and I saw the night sky through the slim windows, there was loads of twists and turns that even confused me and before I knew it I was at the entrance to the throne room again. One of the guards knocked twice before pushing open the door and pushed me inside, I paused in the doorway when I saw Goldyna curled up into a ball on the floor.

"Ah my old friend, how good of you to join us."The king mocked, I glared at him hatred blossomed in my chest and I was shoved forward again and this time I didn't stop until I stood beside my wife. They put pressure onto my shoulders until I knelt on the floor, I made Goldyna uncurl herself and what I saw  made me want to murder someone or maybe murder a few people. Bruises and cuts were all over her exposed skin, she had a black eye it was so bad one of your eyes were closed, and it looked like clumps of her hair had been torn out. She crawled over to me and began to sob into my chest, the king chuckled and I gave him a questionable look in his direction, "True love, how sickening to the stomach it is?" I tried to calm her down but nothing had worked, "Tell him girl, tell him what you told us."

"I am sorry, I am so sorry. I told them where the camp is. I wanted the pain to stop Thedryn, you understand do you not?" I understood indeed but she had endangered our daughter and my father, but I could understand in time but not right now, not when the lives of my family were in danger of an army they were not prepared for. I hold her to me I was sad but I could never be mad at her for any reason, the king roared with laughter and the other men started to laugh nervously.

"A thousand men has already been dispatched, they should be there tomorrow morning." I buried my face in her hair to hide the tear that slid down my face, I hoped the scouts saw them in time and warn the others so they could get out of the woods and into the mountains to our second base. "Separate them," one guard held me where I was and two guards hoisted Goldyna up and away from me. I tried to get free but whoever held me was strong, the king stood up from his throne and he strolled towards her with the evillest smirk I had ever seen on someone's face. "I really do not like snitches it is hard to break them fully, traitors who would just act are easier to break, to control, it might get a little personal but I do not mind that." He went to me, grabbed my chin and kissed me full on the mouth, I gave a small sound of surprise and that was when he let me go, "Let her go." I let go of the breath I was holding but I instantly tensed up again when I saw the dagger in his hands, as fast as lightening he drove the dagger in her chest, "Let him go."

When I felt the pressure on my shoulder I began to crawl towards her as she had fallen from her standing position, I hugged her to my chest again, "It is going to be okay, you just need to keep your eyes open." She smiled and blood was on her teeth and some trickled down her chin, "You cannot leave me, I need you Goldyna." She started to wheeze and I began to worry, a shadow enveloped us and I knew it was the king listening in on this conversation.
