Ying and Yang: A HTTYD Fan Fiction

~Prolouge~

"Clunk, clunk, clunk." A large black shape shifts in its sleep, tossing and turning. A human lies nearby, snoring peacefully.

But not for long.

A large black tail flashes out, and thwacks the man on the head, waking him.

"Toothless?" The tail flicks in response.

"Toothless?" Asks the human again, but this time the black shape sits up.

"What's wrong bud?" The human questions.

Toothless sighs and walks out of the room.

"Hiccup?" A female voice asks.

"Go back to sleep Astrid, Toothless is just feeling a little lonely again."

"Ok." Astrid responds.

Hiccup exits the house and follows his dragon, who is sitting on the edge of a cliff and looking up at the stars. "Toothless, look, there has to be someone out there, we will find her..."

Toothless looks up a Hiccup with his big green eyes and then walks back to the house.

"What am I going to do with that dragon?" Hiccup mutters to himself. He hates seeing Toothless this way, and he hates that Toothless is the only Nightfury in existence, seeing the way they traveled half the world already without finding a single Nightfury.

"Better follow him..." Hiccup returns to the house, the goes back to sleep, not noticing the sad green eyes staring and the single tear that escapes Toothless's eye.

*Toothless's POV*

Toothless woke up in a gorgeous green forest and sighted. Oh no, not another one of these dreams. Not with the Other One...

A white dragon with glittering scales emerged from the forest. Toothless perked up. A white Nightfury? Usually there was a black one in his dreams. They would just stare at each other and Toothless would feel lonelier than ever when he was with that Nightfury...

But this Nightfury looked just as confused as he did. She ran up and sniffed his wing, then the newfound scales growing out of his back, then met his eyes. Her eyes were pink, but not a sickly pink, a deep pink almost as pretty as the Dragon herself.

She was looking questioningly at the scales on his back so he waved them around for her and found the point on the neck that made them emerge for her. He pressed down, then iridescent scales shot from her spine.

"Wow!" She said. She waved them around then said "Thanks."

It was the first time either of them had spoken.

"Are...you real?" They both asked at the same time.

The white dragon chuckled , then said "You first."

"I'm real," said Toothless. "I live in Berk and I'm dreaming now."

"I'm dreaming too...and I live on another island like this one."

For the remainder of the dream they chatted aimlessly and Toothless found she was an alpha too and that her name was Stargazer...

"Toothless!" Toothless awoke to Hiccup's voice. "Thank goodness bud, I couldn't wake you."

Toothless was annoyed, but then remembered Stargazer...

He sat up then dashed out of the house, and flew, making acrobatic loops in the sky. She's real! She's real! There is another!
