Lucy
Not that she wasn't interested, she just didn't see his fascination with the new boy. She heard the whispers the other girls had about him. He was good, maybe better than her and Kyle. Then he had spent their free times with the usual crowd of onlookers during practice; this time joining them in watching the skaters.
Well, one in particular. She tried joining him once but the boy never did any jumps. Just went round and round the rink, sometimes making impressive twirls and zigzags. But that was it and she wondered what made him so special that everyone would offer him a place on the figure skating team.
Oh.
OH.
She did find him fascinating when she and Kyle approached him one day. No jumps or tricks were needed to make her like him. The boy was tall, a giant compared to Kyle. Lanky and skinny too. He's face was good to look at, she'd admit. But what made her adore him was how shy and cute he could be.
He was so nervous when he saw them coming towards him. Fidgeting and smiling slightly, he bowed to them which was awkward with his height.
The first thing she did was coo and pinch his cheeks when he bowed. Surprised, he fumbled in his skates before grabbing at the wall, stopping the fall. Lucy couldn't help but giggle at him.
Lucy decided she liked him. Didn't matter if he was good at skating or not. He was just too cute to not like him.
