It was late that Thursday night when everything had happened, everything we all knew had ended but that isn't where this story begins. Friday October 31st, 1997, it was twelve in the morning when a beautiful bouncing baby boy was born. Kestin Romeave didn't have anyone when he was born, for you see his mother had not survived child birth and his father bailed before he was brought into the world. The world this boy was born into was twisted and more dark than what the average person would've known about from simply stories from the past. Secrets keeps for thousands of years buried under lies and deceit, centuries spent hiding the truth of the world around the normal everyday human. The boy was put into an orphanage in hopes someone would adopt him, and give him the normal life he deserved. That's the first mistake they made, though they wouldn't find that out until it was far too late for anything to be done.
"I was five or six when the bullying started I honestly didn't understand it at first," I told Mrs. Lynn my third and newest therapist of this month. She nodded her head as if signaling me to continue, "The kids at school called me orphan boy always saying my parents didn't love me," I told her with tears in my eyes. "Kestin you shouldn't believe what those kids told you! You know what happened to your mother," Mrs. Lynn explained looking at me like I was a wounded puppy you could tell she was taking pity on me. Truth be told she was like a mom to me, something about her made feel feel like i wasn't alone, she was always there for me when I needed her. "I know you always say it. She didn't survive my birth for unknown causes, but my life wasn't worth taking hers! Its just not fair and I hate this," I yelled out in anger. "I think we should cut today's session short," she had looked at me and replied calmly. "Good idea," is all I said before storming out of her office going straight to my room in a heat of anger.
I sat there for what seemed like hours crying before there was a knock at the door. "Go away," I said annoyed sniffling a bit clearly if the door is shut whomever was at it should realize I'm not in the mood. "No way man this is our room too," my friend Levin Asher said. I got up and quickly opened the door to see my two roommates, Laurence Parker and Levin, standing at the door with concern written on their faces. Honestly this is one of those times where I just wished they would leave me alone and disappear for today. "Kes my dude what happened? Did Rachel punch you in the face again?" Laurence asked while slyly elbowing Levin. See Levin and Rachel were the only kid siblings in the orphanage that were actually related. Rachel also has a quote on quote secret crush on me, though she's more like a sister to me. "No I'm just having flashbacks again," they gave me a sympathetic look, "wanna talk about it man," Levin asked. "No I really just want to forget it all right now." They nodded their heads and we all walked to our friend's, Ryan Duchannes and Sebastian Meyer, room to play video games for the rest of the day. Around seven at night Mrs. Elyssa got us for dinner but honestly I wasn't really hungry anymore. The boys and I had gone downstairs to see Rachel sitting at our usual place with our other friend Mary, whom no one knew had a crush on Levin.
The seven friends had spent the evening laughing and joking the night away, enjoying the company of being with each other spending quality time with friends whom were more like a family. Although, it had been a good night Kestin couldn't seem to wipe the bad memories from his mind about the saddening thoughts of his past. He thought about his mother the thought about what it would be like if she had only been here, If she would've just lived long enough to be a om to him. Another thought had gone to his father or rather lack there of a father, where was he really? Did he not want me in his life, and if he didn't want me why would he create me with my mother? Kestin just couldn't figure out why in the world his father hadn't..."Hey! Could you stop the talk of depression? I'm trying to enjoy my time with my family and just have a good night" Kestin said dismissively. "My apologizes Kestin. I was simply trying to relay your story, there is a lesson to be learned buried within this story."
