Prologue
I stared at my brother as he uttered some sort of incantation under his breath, to I it sounded more like nonsense. His wife stood beside me cradling their baby girl in her arms. She wore her long blue dress, and her feet were dirty and bare. Long, dirt-covered blonde hair fell to her waist and she looked quite malnourished. I was sure I couldn’t look much better.
I heard the sound of the villagers running to us through the darkening woods, and the violet sun above my head was lit with the colors of their torches. I heard the voice of my angel whisper in my head, “you can’t do this to us”. I didn’t reply, but I knew the feline creature was nearby, her sister probably leading the crowd coming to us.
The first few daunting faces began to show through the ensnaring branches. Their faces were covered in ash, hands gripped weapons and some of them were splattered with blood from practice. Savages, they were. I was torn about leaving, yes, but I knew that I had to, no matter how much I knew I would come to long for the feeling of green grass beneath my feet. I needed to protect my brother and his family, and therefore to protect my love. I have no regrets. I knew what I was getting into.
Their faces were lit up from the fire they carried. It was like a scene from an old bonfire tale, the type that are told to scare the living daylight out of the young folk.
At once they stopped in front of us. I could see her from where she stood. And, as I had guessed, there was the lynx, standing in the very front. Her black hair was in a mess, her rags tattered and wise eyes glaring with anger. The crowd tried to move forwards, but Glority shook her head. She was a master of spells herself, she knew it was too late.
I gripped my sister-in-law’s hand as it happened. From the ground erupted gates made of stone and metal, pieces of the earth forming together. My brother collapsed from exhaustion and I quickly headed over to help him, his wife on my trail. The baby’s cries were so loud it seemed to I that they could have been heard all across the land.
Screams could be heard from the villagers as they were enclosed, entrapped into their own private hell, where they would be forevermore. They stumbled backwards, I could hear my loves screams as she held on tight to Glority.
Her crying face was the last thing I saw before the dark forest was completely shut.

Hey guys. :) New story~! I'm really, really proud of this one, and I'll probably be focusing on it for a while. Special thank you to my friend Chelsey(yes, it's spelled that way), because she helped me out with the cover. It's her eye. :) Not the same color of course though, haha, her eyes are green.
I hope you enjoy this! ^^ I've been working really hard on it lately. Thank you for reading the prologue! :) This story will be uploaded, I'm hoping, every Saturday.
Love and pixie dust,
