*Hanako's POV*
I rubbed my eyes as the light shown through the curtains, waking me up. Slowly getting out of bed, I yawned the rest of my sleep away. I made my way to the kitchen, still holding Mochi, my stuffed frog, and started to make breakfast. It wasn't much just some eggs and toast to feed me and my brother, Naruto, before heading to the academy. I waited a few seconds before Naruto came running out of his room to grab his plate.
"Morning Sis!"
"Morning brother." I reply still rubbing sleep out of my eyes.
"Oh crap we over slept!" My eyes widened, sleep long forgotten, as we both started rushing around to get ready for school. It's never calm for long in my life.
Me and my brother race through the streets, and make it only a few minutes late.
"You two almost made it." Iruka-sensei said as we burst through the doors, out of breath.
"Sorry sensei, we slept in."
"Take your seats the exams will start in a second."
We sat in our seat in the back corner of the room and waited as one by one our peers got called to take the exam. Then finally,
"Hanako Kanemaru."
"Good luck Sis," I smiled at my brother and made my way to the exam room.
Passing the exam means becoming a ninja, so it was a big deal to pass. As I step into the room I see Iruka-sensei and sensei from another class.
"Alright Hanako, I need you to make three shadow clones."
I hummed as I did the hand signs that I practiced with Naruto. After a cloud of smoke appeared I was standing in line with three other me's. I made them disappear into smoke as Iruka-sensei and the other sensei applauded.
"What color head band do you want?"
"Light blue, please."
Iruka-sensei handed me a headband the same color as my hair.
"Thank you, sensei's"
I left the room and ran back to the class room where my brother was waiting.
*Naruto's POV*
I stood a few feet from the door my sister disappeared from while cheering:
"Hanako, Hanako, Hanako!"
"Oi, Naruto would you shut it! Besides you don't actually think you or your sister could actually become ninjas, do you?" I knew that voice belonged to my number one bully. My cheering stopped as I turned to look at him with a serious face.
"Hanako's going to pass, we spent every chance we got practicing together for this. There is no way, Hanako won't fail!" I turned back to the door and continued my cheer. It wasn't long until the door swung open and revealed my sister.
"Brother, I did it!!" She gigled as she hugged me.
"That's great! Now I just need to pass and we'll be ninjas together!" We laughed and returned to our seats and continued to wait for my name. I couldn't help but feeling confident over the fact that we proved the bully wrong. He must be so embarrassed since his words backfired on him!
"Naruto Uzamaki."
"That's me!! I'm going to pass!!"
I ran out of the room with Hanako cheering me on. I don't know what I would do without her. With the village hating me and the bullies constantly putting me down, Hanako is my light in times of darkness.
