"Your boyfriend had to go, cute phone background by the way." She came out of her room and gave me back my phone and looked down at my phone at the picture I had set of Dan and I.
"What did you guys talk about?" I asked.
"He told me not to tell you but he just wants me to make sure this isn't all too much."
"I'm fine and I told him I was." I said.
"If you say so then you are." She said. "He's just being a good boyfriend." She sat down with me on the couch. "He really likes you and genuinely cares. I'm glad we moved because if mom and dad would've found out..."
"If know." I agreed.
"Things are better like this, and they'll keep getting better once you get use to it all, and we'll even figure out how to use the washer and dryer... eventually."
"Why can't we just dump our dirty clothes off with mom like you did when you lived on campus?" I asked.
"Because that's why she bought them for us, we can't do that, we're grown women."
"I'm hungry." I sighed.
"Well let's get pizza. We can get bacon on your side." She offered.
"Alright." I agreed.
Everything just really sucked right now and things continued to suck for the next week.
I was alone for most of the day in the apartment but Callie left me her car but I didn't really know what to do with all this freedom so I kind of just sat at home and ate leftover pizza and watching Netflix, which is exactly what I was doing when Callie called me that day.
"Hey, I'm coming home early and I forgot my keys this morning. Are you home to let me in here in like thirty minutes?" She asked.
"Of couse I am." I laughed "Wait, are you okay? Why are you leaving early?"
"Just feeling kinda sick. I think I got food poisoning from yesterday's Chinese food." She said.
"I'll make a mental note not to eat those leftovers then. Yeah, I'm here to let you in."
"Be home soon then." She replied.
I decided to clean up the living room as well as my self a little to hide the fact I was depending further and further into a pit of laziness.
I began to question if she was alright at the hour mark so I called her.
"Hey, where are you?" I asked.
"Sorry, just give me a minute." She said but a knock at the door drowned out her words on the phone.
"Are you at the door?" I asked.
"Yeah, open it already." She nagged and I hung up the phone on her and threw open the door.
"Look bitch-" But I stopped my joke and froze. His grin was big as he laughed obviously as what I said. Excitement spread throughout me and I jumped onto him.
He caught me this time and squeezed me tightly in the doorway. He held me up so my feet didn't even touch the ground."I missed you! I missed you! You're really here!" I squealed probably into his ear but he didn't let me go I kissed him over and over on the cheek making him chuckle.
"In we go." He said and carried me into the house and I finally released him.
"But you were in- how did you get- how are you here?" I sputtered out in joy and confusion.
"I came straight here instead of going home." He answered.
"Oh. Oh! Your things." I said remembering they were outside the door and I helped him haul his things in before wrapping him in another hug.
