Kyungsoo's apartment was quiet, except for the small crackling of beef on the pan. He silently watched the pan simmer while Jongin held him in his arms.
"Jongin," He called his boyfriend's name lowly. Jongin's eyes were closed and resting in the crook of Kyungsoo's neck. "You smell like blood again."
It was a normal sentence, Jongin often smelled that way. At first, it heavily bothered Kyungsoo, but he soon realized that was something he wasn't able to change.
Jongin opened his eyes, and squeezed Kyungsoo tighter. "I did it for you." He said in his soft, rough voice. Kyungsoo was the only one who ever heard it.
"We talked about this." Kyungsoo was brave enough to say that with a stern tone. He wriggled from Jongin's embrace to turn off the stove. "Dinner is done."
Immediately after Kyungsoo's hands left the knob, Jongin snatched them into his. He laced their fingers together with a longing expression. Kyungsoo's stayed blank. "They bothered you." He sounded desperate, breaking. He knew Kyungsoo didn't like him being bad. "I..I did it for you, baby."
They. Those strong men that harassed Kyungsoo in an alley one dark night. When he got home, Jongin was nervous, waiting. One look was all it took. The anger and sheer insanity to explode from his eyes. It terrified Kyungsoo, even after years, but he'd never say that.
Tonight, the news had showed three bodies, mangled and barley looking human. He enjoyed ending their lives. Just like he always does.
When his voice quavered, Kyungsoo stiffened. He always did it for him. He would murder everyone on the planet for me. "I know," Kyungsoo dragged Jongin closer, Jongin happily embracing him again. "You always do."
"It's because I love you." Kyungsoo wanted to wriggle free again, but Jongin was holding on too tight. "I'll always love you." He buried his face in Kyungsoo's shoulder. "I'm sorry."
This was the soft Jongin. This Jongin was special. He never saw the Jongin that ripped open the hearts of children, simply to enjoy their screams. He never saw the Jongin that burned homes and made families watch. He never saw the monster that was there.
He only saw Jongin, a man who loved him.
Kyungsoo hugged him back, saying, "I know, darling." He felt Jongin smile at the nickname. "But, that doesn't make it right."
Jongin stayed silent. Kyungsoo knew he knew it wasn't right. But, Kyungsoo also knew that's what Jongin took pleasure in the most. "Let's eat dinner." Kyungsoo blandly changed the subject.
He set their plates, Kyungsoo remembering that the utensils were locked away. He learned the hard way that sharp things excited Jongin. It made the insanity shine through. He silently gave Jongin his nuggets, Jongin giving a happy thank you in return.
Kyungsoo barely touched his beef as Jongin dipped his nuggets in ketchup. He looked up, a small smile on his face. "Aren't you going to eat?" He asked innocently.
Kyungsoo couldn't lie to him, that made Jongin unnaturally angry. "No," he said, refusing to make eye contact with his lover. "I'm not hungry."
"Please eat." Jongin said, worry clear in his suddenly shaky voice. It always fascinated Kyungsoo how his boyfriend would always get worried over small things. "I don't want you to get hungry."
Kyungsoo finally looked at him with a small smile. It made Jongin beam. He loves it when I'm happy. "Okay," He said. "I'll eat a little."
He picked it up with his hands and nibbled away at his beef. Jongin cheered. "Now you won't be hungry!" He giggled away. Kyungsoo strained a smile, knowing Jongin wouldn't notice. He knew all Jongin could see was a smiling Kyungsoo, whether it be real or not.
"Does that make you happy?" Kyungsoo asked, unable to keep himself from feeding into Jongin's energy.
"Yes!" Jongin exclaimed. "I like you being healthy. I get worried when you get sick."
You kill when I get hurt. "I know. I'll eat," Kyungsoo felt like he wanted to tease him. "Just for you."
That made Jongin swoon. Kyungsoo gave way to a giggle for his success.
When Jongin finished his food, he carried Kyungsoo to their shared bedroom. Jongin asked gently, "Can I put on your pajamas?"
"Of course." Kyungsoo never objected to Jongin touching him. He unbuttoned his dress shirt slowly and gently. Kyungsoo liked how Jongin's soft hands were only for for him. He closed his eyes as Jongin slipped off the dress shirt, leaving Kyungsoo's chest exposed.
Jongin watched his lover's chest rise and fall. "You're beautiful," He said under his breath. "You're so beautiful. But, I don't want you to be cold." He looked in a drawer for a night shirt. Pulling out a wrinkled one, he smiled and looked to Kyungsoo. "Is this a good one? I know you like to sleep in my clothes."
"That's perfect." Jongin beamed and pulled the shirt over his boyfriend's head. "You're perfect. Now, come and lay down with me, please." Kyungsoo laid down after he took off his pants.
Jongin excitedly accepted the offer, practically ripping off his shirt to lay with his boyfriend in their shared bed. He hugged him close, burying his his face in Kyungsoo's hair. "I can't live without you." Jongin mumbled, sleep creeping up on him with a yawn.
"Go on to sleep, baby." Kyungsoo turned over to face him. To him, Jongin was beautiful. Every feature on his face, his body, was simply mesmerizing. And Jongin was willing to protect him no matter the circumstance. Kyungsoo felt safe in his murderous arms. "You're tired. Sleep. For me."
Jongin nodded slowly and closed his pure, evil eyes. "Goodnight, Kyungsoo." He gave a small kiss on Kyungsoo's forehead, making him blush slightly. "I love you. I always will."
"I love you, too, Nini." Kyungsoo whispered.
Truly, to Kyungsoo, Jongin was beautiful.
A beautiful monster.
