hosoek slide into the both with a heart-warming smile.
that was his signature smile that left anyone- boys and girls alike -weak kneed. however, soekjin was used to it. truly, the older was just as dazzling with his gorgeous smile.
"hobi," jin already slumped into the other side of the booth, "you said you would get off soon and time would go by quickly. you lied." jin lips posed in a pout at the younger.
"but i also told you two hours ago that the next shift workers were having issues."
"yeah, but-"
"no buts. you've gotten free ice cream and you're getting free lunch because im paying." hobi smiled again, "you don't get to complain." that earned a huff from the older. the other just keep his smile, starting up a new conversation since there was no customers.
sunny side cones was pretty popular for any ice cream place, usually busy with people. but the weather had grown a bit colder this week. too cold for ice cream it seemed due to the eerily quiet parlor. the only sounds were the slight buzzing noise of the neon 'open' sign, a few soft clicks and clacks from the cooling counter, and the boys' voices filled the air.
hosoek had been working at sunny side cones since he was a teen, fifteen to be exact. the owner was a family friend and hobi was everyone's favorite worker. a 'physical embodiment' of the real sunny side cone as most complimented him. it never failed to make the male blush at such compliments. plus, the payout was pretty good for a part-time job, the winter months off barely effected him.
jin was his roommate and best friend. he was older by three years but was just as immature and goofy. it was truly a giddy relationship between the two. inseparable best friends. even though only meet three years ago.
the younger had promised to take them both out lunch since his shift ended at two, however, the next workers called to inform him that they would be late. of course, he didn't mind because more money for him, yet his bestie had the opposite reaction. when he shared the news, jin slumped dramatically into the booth and sighed. that expression quickly changed with a free two scoop. but that only lasted jin about five minutes before he continued his complaints.
soekjin was a homebody, he mostly enjoyed lounging on their couch, stuffing his face with food, and playing video games. he was a bit protective of his games, mario Nintendo games. he played them religiously, the only things that could distract him were food and his job.
he worked as a model, when he wanted to. jin's looks got him a lot of things that others didn't, he could blow off a shoot and the company still wants him. while he was a bit of a difficult lad, many companies still wanted his face, his beautiful face. he thrived of the attention his beauty gained which is why he modeled but he also thrived off sitting on his couch with a controller in hand.
soekjin was only out of the house because his best friend had promised his other distract, food. hosoek tended to take them out a lot cause he was just that type of friend. and soekjin's personality tended to not reject his dongsaeng's offers. the man liked being spoiled. pampered was a better word for it.
as they spoke about what to eat for lunch, small complaints still escaping the older's lips, a couple walked inside. well, not just yet on the whole couple thing.
it had been about four weeks since the pair, taehyung and jeongguk, had started their friendship. or as little chimchim liked to call it, taekookie. they had all become pretty close friends in a short time. it was pretty evident that the younger two clearly wanted a relationship with each other.
the two pairs were conversing between themselves, each not really taking not of the other. that is until hosoek's loud exclamation, "jin hyung, we are not going were you want. i should choose cause im paying and i want bibimbap."
