Melina's Pov.

We were all hanging out at my house for a few days before going up to the lake. Dana insisted that we play ghost in the graveyard with the neighbors, so we did. It would get my mind off of Adam anyways, right?

I ran to the Fulton's yard and began climbing the tree. I looked around for a second to make sure no one was watching and continued to climb. I was not far from the top of the tree when I decided to sit and hang out there. If they wanted to catch me, then they were going to have to climb.

Dana's Pov.

I ran across the street and dove into the bushes, but I collided with something or someone. I rubbed my forehead and looked up from the ground. It was definitely a person, but it was too dark to tell who. "Who are you," I whispered. I could hear a smile in his voice, "It's Preston."

My smile grew wider as I threw my arms around him. He hugged me back and planted a kiss to my forehead. "Hey Dana," he whispered in my ear. "Yes Preston," I replied. He whispered, "Will you go out with me?" I stared into his eyes with a wide smile on my face before answering, "Yes, of course!" He leaned down and connected our lips. I smiled into the kiss before pulling away.

I heard a bit of shuffling in the distance, so I clamped my hand over Preston's mouth. He looked confused, but he didn't say anything. I pointed in the direction in which the sound was coming from and put a finger up to my lips. He nodded, so I took my hand off of his mouth.

We sat in silence until the shuffling came up to the bushes and stopped. I could see the person's shoes. I recognized them to be Ian's. "Stay," I whispered to Preston. He looked at me confused once more, but before he could say anything I ran out of the bushes with Ian trailing behind.

I looked back over my shoulder and saw him about 10 feet behind me. I ran through the Fulton's yard and circled back, jumping off the small ledge. I ran down the hill and across the street to Melina's house. I stopped and turned to see Ian still trailing behind, so I continued running to the triangle intersection.

I stood on one side and Ian stood on the other. I started to plan out my way of escape, and quickly ran past Ian towards the house with all the cats. Once I reached the massive amount of shrubbery I hopped onto one of the tree branches. I swung my body underneath and around the branch above me so I wouldn't bang my head on it, and climbed to the next branch. I kept climbing like this as Ian stared up at me. I stared back down at him and stuck my tongue out.

He very slowly began to climb the tree, so I made my way farther out on the branch. Once Ian had gotten pretty far up the tree I hopped onto a branch below it. I climbed a short way down before jumping off, landing with a 'thud' and an 'oof'. I ran off back towards where Preston was with the leaves crunching under my feet. Finally when no one was looking I dove back into the bushes and into Preston's arms. He smiled down at me and I laid my head on his chest. "Good job," he said cheerily. I brofisted him and continued to sit in silence.
