Chapter 4: Gifts

Gifts

In a few minutes there was a guy who looked around Carlisle's age in front of us.

"This is Elezear." Carlisle told me motioning towards him, after everyone had greeted each other.

"And this, Elezear, is Edward's mate Juliet." Said Carlisle.

I smiled and shook hands with him. He was looking at me with fascination.

"We know she has gifts. She had the control over elements in her human life." Edward said, explaining my gifts. "But we believed she will have more when she turns."

"Edward have you ever been able to read her mind. Clearly, that is?" He asked.

"No. It's always been in riddles, equations and tricks." He said searching for right words.

"Have you ever thought she is a good deal smarter that normal humans." He asked. Edward nodded.

"Have you ever wondered how she as a human had a control over her gifts, that mature vampires work for?"
Edward again nodded a long with the others.

"Have you ever noticed that she is intelligent. She can say exactly what is needed in any situation. She can....whats the word? She knows things." He said. Edward nodded.

Jasper's eyes widened as if he realised something.

"She has the gift of knowledge, wisdom and intelligence." Elezear said. Ah. That's why Jasper had that look. His friend and brother, Peter has the gift of knowledge.

"She is also gifted with humanity." He said. "She cannot turn into a human. No one can. She has just kept a few humanly traits. Only time will tell which ones she has kept."

"I can eat chocolate?!" I asked excitedly.

They all looked at me amused by my outburst.

"Maybe." Elezear said as if he was talking to a mentally retarded human.

I gave Edward puppy dog eyes. He sighed and nodded. I smiled widely and kissed his cheek.

"The volturi will want her." Rose suddenly said.

We decided that topic can wait for now. We sat in the living room and talked before Elezear had to leave.

I noticed everyone's eyes were black.

"You all need to hunt." I said. "I'll be fine."

After a few arguments I won and they all left.

We had discovered that I won't feel thirsty for a week at least and three maximum.

If you are wondering, James got away. Everyone got momentarily distracted by my transformation and Laurent and Victoria came there. No one got hurt, but those three managed to get away.

Hey guys. Hope you liked this chapter. I'll complete this book today itself. It is not terribly long or anything. It's quiet short. The next book is going to be longer than this one and the prequel combined though. So yeah...
