"Gah!"

I sit bolt upright in my bed. For a minute I wonder how I am sleeping in the Nether, but then I remember that it was just a dream, and that I am still here in the Overworld.

My door opens and Jet, the man who took me in, runs in.

"Is everything okay?" he bursts out worriedly, but then he sees me just sitting here and calms down.

"Yes," I answer. But then a smile spreads across my face. It is the day.

"Why are you so-- oh, right," Jet says. He begins laughing. "Happy birthday!"

"Yes!" I say. "That took long enough."

"Nuh uh!" Jet argues. "I said it in less than twenty seconds!"

"Whatever," I laugh, and we walk into the kitchen.

"So, what do I get for my birthday?" I ask.

Jet just stares at me for a moment as if I am an idiot, but when I still don't figure out, he sighs.

"You've known since you were three!" he exclaims. "Revenge, remember!"

"Oh yeah!" I say, slapping myself. How could I forget that? I just had a dream about it!

"But... is that all?" I ask. "I mean, what if I don't succeed? Then I'll get nothing for my birthday!"

He sighs. "Well, I do have another present for you..." he begins slowly, being careful not to give anything away.

"Really? What is it?!" I ask gratefully.

Jet laughs. "You know you don't get it until after we eat our cake! That's what we do every year!"

"Dang it," I say. "Well, then what are we waiting for? Bring out the cake!"

Jet smiles and walks to the refrigerator we made. He steps on the pressure plate that opens the door and pulls a cake out of the chest in the refrigerator. Then he walks to the table and throws it out of his inventory. It lands on the table and I pick it up and quickly gobble it up.

"Okay!" I say, not able to wait any longer. "What is it?"

Jet sighs. "Follow me," he says. I gladly get up from the table and follow him. He walks into the living room.

"So, you know how you're going to Herobrine's castle to get revenge?" he says. "Well, you don't have a weapon, and that's a bit of a problem."

"Oh, yeah," I say. "My iron sword won't work."

"Yep," Jet agrees. "So, to make up for it, I decided to give you a really good present. Look in there." He gestures to a chest.

I sprint across the room, eager to see what my present is. I know I am eighteen, but people can still be excited, right?

What is it, what is it?!? The suspense is killing me!

I open the chest as soon as I get close enough, and what I find is amazing. It is a diamond sword. An enchanted diamond sword, enchanted with Sharpness three.

The same exact sword as the one I had in my dream.

"I-I--" I begin speechlessly.

"Am amazed?" Jet guesses.

"Yes, you could say that," I answer.

I just stare at the sword for a minute. This has to be a coincidence. Hopefully that dream wasn't showing my future. If it was, I'm gonna be so upset. But it can't be. It's just not possible. Why would I deserve to go to the Nether? I haven't done anything wrong!

"Thank you," I say, still in complete and utter awe.

He smiles. "Your welcome," he says.

I go back to my room to examine the sword in private. I lock the door behind me.

I sit down on my bed. This can't be the same sword. It's impossible. That sword was fake, it doesn't exist. It was only a dream. But if it doesn't exist, then how is it in my hands?

I sigh and decide to figure that out later. I get up, unlock my door, and walk outside. I decide to show my friends my new gift. So I walk down he street of my neighborhood to my best friend Maddi's house. But I it turns out I don't have to go to her house to see her. She is running down the street to see me, and with the large crowd of people on the gravel streets, we don't see each other and ram into one another.

"Ow," I say, getting up. "That hurt. I lost a heart from that."

"Same here," Maddi says, rubbing her arm. But then a smile spreads across her face. "Happy birthday, Kaden!"

"Thanks!" I say. We stay silent for a moment.

"Hey, my health has already come back!" Maddi says, breaking the silence.

"Oh yeah! Mine has too!" I say. "That cake really hit the spot!"

"Oh, you already had cake!" she says. "That means you opened your present! What did you get?"

"Something amazing," I say, and hold out the sword.

"Wow, that's awesome!" she says. "But I'm not sure if that will top this!" She puts on a full set of diamond armour and my mouth falls open.

"Unfair!" I say in awe. "It's not even close to your birthday! And who's the one going on the mission to kill Herobrine here?"

"You," she answers casually. "And that's why I got you this..."

Maddi throws out a full set of diamond armour, but enchanted. I quickly grab it and put it on.

"Thanks!" I say happily.

"No problem," she says.

"Wait, where did you get the enchantment table to enchant this stuff?" I ask. "Did you and Jet mine obsidian and diamonds and stuff?"

"Well, we both mined our own diamonds," she answers proudly. "But we didn't make enchantment tables. John did yesterday, and he is letting us use for an iron ingot per object."

"Oh." John is the blacksmith in our neighborhood, and he owns a place called 'John's Blackhouse' where you can trade and, apparently, now enchant things.

"Okay," I say. "But, uh, why do you have diamond armour?"

Maddi grins. "Because," she says. "I am going to go with you."
