Maddi is waiting for me when I walk outside.

"Where have you been?" she asks. "I've been waiting here forever!"

"Saying goodbye is hard," I snarl rudely.

Her eyebrows raise. "Geez, sorry," she says. "Just asking."

I shake my head angrily and look down at my map. I am facing the direction of Herobrine's castle, so we just have to go forward.

"Okay," I say casually, as if we hasn't just been mad at each other. "We just have to go in the direction we are facing now and we will eventually get to his castle." I look back down at my map and frown. "Uh, but there will be one problem."

"What?" Maddi asks.

"There is a huge lava pool near Herobrine's castle," I explain. "It spreads across the entire world and is pretty wide. So let's be sure to collect some blocks-- not sand or gravel-- on our way there. But otherwise we should be just fine."

Maddi nods.

Maddi nods. "Okay," she says. "Let's do this."

We begin walking straight. There is nothing we can really do, so I just look around at the trees and the cute little piggies. I love pigs. They're so cute. They have little curly tails, and the babies' heads are so big compared to their bodies. I love it when the babies just stare at you. They're just so adorable! And they're also geniuses. Sometimes I get lost and I don't have my map, so I just walk up to a pig, ask them where my house is and snort like a pig, then it'll actually look in the direction that my house is in! Well, it might not work for other people, but that's what happens to me.

I just fall into my own world, thinking about piggies, but still while walking. After a while I shake my head to regain focus and look down at my map to see how far we've gone. I think we've gone pretty far, but it turns out we've barely even moved on the map.

This is gonna be a long journey.

"Okay!" I blurt out. "I am sick of this already! We have barely traveled at all and I am already bored. There is absolutely nothing to do!"

"I know," Maddi agrees. "Should we go back?"

I stare at her. "No way!" I scream. "I have to do this!" I calm down a bit and speak a little quieter. "For my family."

"Okay, okay!" Maddi says. "We won't go back!"

"Yes," I say. "Of course."

I smile and begin to munch on some beef. I haven't noticed it, but my food bar is really low. I hear a growling sound and look over to see Maddi rub her stomach. She pulls out some chicken and shoves it all in her mouth and we both laugh.

"So, how long do you think we are going to be journeying?" Maddi asks.

"I don't know," I reply honestly. "At the rate we're going, we won't be there for a month!"

She nods disappointedly. "Well, at least we're having a good time so far!" she points out.

"Yeah," I sigh. "But still." I close my eyes, remembering reading about people trying to reach Herobrine's castle in books I have read at the library. I have spent much time studying up for this journey, making sure I wouldn't forget any important facts. I recall reading one day that no one has ever gotten back alive. Herobrine has been nice enough to send their dead bodies back, but not nice enough to spare them. I also remember that the farther you venture into the forest, it gets much harder to survive. And you'd be lucky to even make it to the jungle. Few people have made it there. After that is the huge lava pool I told Maddi about earlier. Only one person has ever made it there. And somehow, he crossed it and made it to Herobrine's castle, but Herobrine made easy work of him. I really can't even believe I am doing this.

I really want to tell Maddi this, but I decide not to. Then she'll get scared and might want to go back. You may be surprised because I didn't want her to go, but that was before. I regret that, because now I find her company nice and soothing fun. The thought of her death still haunts me, though.

I was right before. We definitely have a very long, terrifying, and difficult journey ahead of us. But luckily, Maddi doesn't know that.
