The guy at the counter can’t seem to hide the stress on his face. He seem a bit overworked. Maybe he worked so hard because it’s the only thing he could think of to drive away his loneliness. Maybe it’s that loneliness when you can’t even hold the hand of the one that you loved the most knowing that he’s a hundred miles away from you…. Or maybe he’s just worrying about something else.

As the lady at the counter handed over his order, the guy’s phone rang just right after he took his first sip.
He spilled a bit of his pink milk on his shirt out of excitement, as if he was waiting for the call for quite some time. He took out his phone out of his pocket and quickly answered the call.

“Hello, Kongpop. How is it?” Worriedly, the guy said.

“It’s already been set P’Arthit. They want to meet you next Sunday” The guy on the phone said.

“Uhm… Kongpop… Are you sure about this?”

“Of course P’Arthit.” The guy on the other line chuckled. “Don’t be scared P’. And you said it yourself that you wanted to introduce yourself to my parents, especially my father because he’s the one who asked you to take a good care of me.” He reasoned out. “Also they are warm and lovely persons.”

“Oi Kongpop… I know they’re lovely… since you grew up… so lovely...” The guy said, as he blush out of shyness. “…But that’s not the point. I’m scared not knowing whether they’re going to like me or not.” The shyness rapidly shifted back into worrying.

“Don’t think too much P’Arthit, I know they’re going to like you as much as I do.” The guy on the phone tried to calm him. “Anyway P’Arthit… do you really think I’m lovely?” he said as he teases him.

“NO!!! IT’S NOT LIKE THAT.” The guy with the pink milk said carelessly not knowing that he just said it out loud for the all the people in the coffee shop to hear. Once he realized it, he slowly turned his head to examine the area and he sees that every eye inside the shop are staring straightly towards him.  Out of embarrassment, he apologized to the people by doing wai, grabbed his drink, walked rapidly towards the door and walked out.

“You….. Kongpop…” The guy with the pink milk said then suddenly, he chuckled.

“Why P’Arthit? Why are you laughing?” The guy on the other line said, confused, not knowing what’s happening on the other side of the phone.

“Nothing.” He chuckled again. “See you soon, Kongpop.”

“OK P’Arthit. I’ll see you soon.” He replied.

As the guy on the other line is getting ready to end the call. The guy with the pink milk interrupted.

“Wait! Kongpop!”

“Yes, P”Arthit?”

“I just want you to know that… I…” He sighed as he tries to say the words that he wanted to say. “…Miss you.” Arthit finally said it. The word that he’s keeping for quite some time now.
The guy on the other line smiled out of happiness.

“Me too, P’Arthit. I really miss you... so much.” Kongpop said.
