SOTUS : HAPPILY EVER AFTER

CHAPTER 1 - THE SUN SETS

The young guy stretched his arms as he hear every sound of busyness inside the four corners of the workplace. The room is filled with ten people but he only hears silence and the tap on every keys on the computer. This made him miss the days of his internship where he's just a few steps away from his sun, the love of his life. He wonder if his sun misses him as much as he misses him.

"Kongpop, can you give me the documents that I asked you earlier?" Asked by the man in a suit and tie who patted Kong's back.

Kongpop turned around and saluted (Wai) to the man. Then he turned around again to collect the documents that the man asked for.

"Por'Kap (Dad) , here you go." Kongpop said as he handed over the documents to his father with a smile.

Kong's father smiled back. "Anyway, I've already made a reservation at the restaurant for the next Sunday."

Kongpop smiled. "Kop Khun kap, por (Dad)."

"What makes this friend of yours so special that we need to meet him alone?" The father gave a suspicious look to his son. "As far as I remember, you only bring a friend to our dinner if she's your girlfriend... So... Is she?" The father gave Kongpop a suspicious smile.

Kongpop hesitated to answer so he just smiled and said. "You'll know when we got there."

"Oi, Son! Too much suspense." The father said. "OK! OK! I won't ask anymore. I can't wait to meet this special friend of yours." He smiled as he patted his sons shoulder then took his depart back to his office.

Kongpop still has one hour left before he finishes his shift but he already took care of all the tasks that was given to him so he decided to visit the rooftop to get a good air and freshen up a bit.

He looked at the calming view of fire-red sunset. Looking at the sun made him remember his one and only sun. He took a huge breathe-in then he took out his phone and made a call.

The phone rings.

After a single ring, the call has already been accepted.

""Hello, Kongpop. How is it?" Worriedly said by the guy on the other line.

"It's already been set P'Arthit. They want to meet you next Sunday" Kongpop said. He smiled proudly as if he's waiting for it for a very long time.

"Uhm... Kongpop... Are you sure about this?" Arthit said nervously.
Kongpop knows that Arthit is really worried right now so he tried to calm him, "Of course P'Arthit. Don't be scared P'. And you said it yourself that you wanted to introduce yourself to my parents, especially my father because he's the one who asked you to take a good care of me." Kongpop cried out. "Also they are warm and lovely persons."

"Oi Kongpop... I know they're lovely... since you grew up... so lovely..." Said by the guy on the other line that made Kongpop almost shout, out of cringe feeling. His heart beats so fast since his sun isn't always like this.

"Don't think too much P'Arthit, I know they're going to like you as much as I do." Kong said. "Anyway P'Arthit... do you really think I'm lovely?" he said as he teases him because he knows that his sun can't handle this kind of situation, which he thinks is cute.

"NO!!! IT'S NOT LIKE THAT." Arthit cried making Kongpop laugh since he can imagine how Arthit looks when he said it.

The guy on the other line didn't speak for a few second "P'Arthit? You still there."

"You..... Kongpop..." Said by the guy on the other phone then suddenly, he chuckled.

Out of confusion, Kongpop tried to ask the guy on the other line, "Why P'Arthit? Why are you laughing?"

"Nothing." The guy on the phone chuckled again. "See you soon, Kongpop."

"OK P'Arthit, I'll see you soon." Kongpop agreed.

Kongpop is about to end the call when he heard Arthit called his attention again.

""Wait! Kongpop!"

"Yes, P'Arthit?"

"I just want you to know that... I..." He sighed as he tries to say the words that he wanted to say. "...Miss you."

Those words that came out of Arthit's mouth is really unexpected. This words made Kongpop's heart race so fast, as if it's like the first time that Arthit kissed him.

"Me too, P'Arthit. I really miss you... so much." He said as he stared at the sun while it sets.

A few seconds past then the sun has already set. Then suddenly, Kongpop remembered something.

"P'Arthit! I am going to---"

The call ends.
Kongpop sighed. But it didn't made it lose the smile the he is wearing right now.

Kongpop looked at his watch and saw that it's already past his shift. He rushed down back to office and gathered his things. He walked towards his father's office and knocked. He opened that door slowly and saw his father working. "Por, Its' already late. Aren't you going to rest?" Kong said with a smile.

"I'm almost done. You go first." His father smiled back at him.

"Actually por, I'm not sleeping at our house tonight." Kong said and he saw that it confused his father. "I'll be staying at my friends' house for tonight since tomorrow is holiday... and I've already asked moms' permission."

"Alright, just take care of your own... and don't disturb your friend too much." The father gave his permission to his dad.

Kongpop smiled and finally gave a wai to his father.

This young guy run out the building as if he's being chased...or he's rather chasing someone. He looked at his watch and thought 'Just right on time, I'm going to make it.' Then he smiled like he's expecting something worthy.

He raised his arm to call the attention of the arriving cab.

At the moment that the cab stopped, he quickly gets in, sit, closed the door then stretched his right arm to show his phone to the driver.

"P', Can you take me here please." Kongpop said as he smiled pleasingly to the driver.

The driver agreed... but just right after the driver touch the steering wheel, Kongpop suddenly demanded, "P', can we go faster please? I'm chasing someone very important to me." Then smiled. A smile that would only appear on the face of the happiest man in the whole wide world.
