Chapter One: Let the Fights Begin
-------------------------
I was flipping through some channels on the TV while I ate my Cheerios when an interesting story came on ABC.
Local school, Lincoln High recently had a leak in one of their pipes forcing the school to be closed down until further notice.
Ha, sucks to be them. I go to Camelot High, Lincoln High's rival school.
The peppy reporter with way too much make up continued her story on Lincoln, "Last night one of the janitors at the nearby highschool smelled an unfamilar smell and upon inspecting the smell he discovered the leaking pipe. Until it is decided whether or not the gas is dangerous the students will be relocated to Camelot High."
As soon as I heard her say they would be relocated to MY school I dropped my cereal sending little wheat loops every where. Why on Earth would they send them to a school where they will all be hated?
"Although an exact timeline has not been made yet, it is expected the students of Lincoln High will be attending this alerternate school for at least a month. Even if the leak isn't dangerous the pipe still has to be fixed and the school will-"
I couldn't bare to listen for another moment so I shut of the small television in my kitchen. Below me I hear a sloshing noise and look down to find my chocolate lab, Sid, eating my fallen cereal.
"Good boy, Sid."
Now, almost on cue my best friend, Christina, called.
"Tina, I was about to call you!" I nearly shouted into the phone.
"Good morning to you too Grace, how's your morning?" She asked in a fake caring voice.
"Sorry, but it was going fine until I turned on the news. Have you heard?"
"No. What happened? Did someone die."
"Not yet, although I think we might die today. Lincoln shut down due to some stupid gas leak, but that's not the bad part. Those students are coming to Camelot now."
I heard a thump through the phone which I'm assuming is Tina dropping her phone.
"Christina! You there?"
"Yeah," she sighed, "My phones not. It cracked again. But really, are they asking for World War three to start?"
"They must be."
"This definitly sucks, but back to the reason I called. I need a ride. Come get me in ten? Please!"
This time it was my turn to sigh, "OK, I'll be there in a sec."
Before either of us could say goodbye I ended the call so I could finish getting ready. When I hopped off of my stool I landed directly in a puddle of milk, fan-freaking-tastic. This morning is going great, not.
I looked down at my shoes and of course, they're soaked. Great, now I have to change my shoes and shirt. Why do I have to change my shirt? I don't have any other shoes, but flip-flops that match a purple and white zig-zagged shirt. So instead I put on a white see through shirt with black polka dots that match my dark capris. Not my ideal style, but I'm in a hurry.
After brushing my teeth and sprinting to my car I was finally on my way when I remembered I had to go get Tina. Shit. I quickly turned around to try and make it on time but I knew I would be late so I just the what the hell, I'll get there when I get there.
I finally got to Christina's house and I was relieved to know she was late to so I simply honked the horn and waited for her to come. Soon enough she came running out of her front door, bag in hand and got in the car.
